You'll see that it really isn't that hard to get up close at pro tournaments. If theres someone you absolutely HAVE to see. just wait on a teebox. and as people come and go you can inch your way up to the very front. I usually just wait till i get to the very front of a teebox which is quite closely marked off, and you can just wait all day and watch everyone up close. Best holes to watch are par 3s or open par 4/5s where they rip into it. Watching Vijay crush the ball 35 yards longer then my balls at age 40+ is a bit depressing.

I'd love to be able to go and just watch everyone up close like that. It would be incredible to see all the little differences that make their swings unique

Holy ****!!!! A golf thread is up again!!! I'd given up hope.
Speaking of which, got to get my new annual pass this month.
Just a little info about myself:
Time playing: 12 years or so
Handicap: scratch
Clubs
Driver: Titleist 907D2
3 wood: Taylormade burner.
Irons: Titleist 990's
Wedges: Cleveland 52, 56, 60
Putter: Taylormade nubbins. 10+ years old, but it rocks. Might get a scotty this year though.
Preferred balls: Bridgestone 330-rx. Would trade any distance for control/spin any day.
Edit: Concerning pga tourneys, 2010 U.S. Open here I come. Went to the 100th U.S. Open at Pebble in 2000, it was absolutely amazing. This year it's coming back for the 110th and I'm going all out. Going to try to go at least two days.

That'd be a great tournament to go to. I always get into a huge debate with people over which Major would be the best to go see. I can't decide over the US Open or the Masters. The Open would be great to see because it's the "peoples tournament" and it has the hardest conditions in golf, but that Masters is just amazing because of the tradition and how rare it is to get tickets.
The Honda Classic was awesome. The practice round was delayed forever due to rain so I didn't get to see any of it. I planned on taking pictures too so I was a little pissed. Thursday and Friday I basically saw everyone. Anthony Kim tee'd off early as hell the first day when I followed him around so it was like me, him, his girlfriend, and like 4 other people following him and Allenbee (sp?) around for awhile. Friday I followed Weir, Villegas, and Cabrera's group around for the entire day. Villegas played awesome all week obviously and it was cool seeing Weir tie the course record with all of his crazy Canadian fans. And Umi you were right, I was basically as close as you could possibly get to everyone on each shot.

The U.S. Open was amazing. I was close enough a few times to touch Tiger Woods, which was pretty amazing. The dude is in AMAZING physical shape. I mean, you can see it on tv, but it's different when you see him in person.
It was also amazing for the fact that it was at Pebble. I mean, one of, if not the most famous course in the U.S.
We walked around for a while, but we picked a spot at the 14th teebox. From there we could see the approach shots on number 8, the signature approach over the ocean. Then we could watch them tee off from about 20 yards away on the 9th tee. The golfers coming off 13 would walk right next to us, as we were against the ropes, and they teed off right in front of us, as close as you could get.
What made that spot extra nice was that it was a par 5 with no water, and it played to the right. So all of the hard hitters who hit power fades would really let loose on the 14th, as opposed to being cautious like most of the rest of Pebble.

Course looks sick.
New topic of discuss: Tiger woods announced he's coming back for the Masters.
I had a feeling he would since it's such a special tournament especially to him, and how the "patrons" are so respectful.

Perfect tourney to do so. It's the most "respectful" and hard to get into tournament there is. Especially for the press.
And on top of that, he is more than comfortable with the course. I expected this as soon as he said he was taking a break.

Most people did.
Don't know about you guys, but the weather here has been amazing. Courses are already open, which is rare in Toronto. I started with lessons a month and a half ago so hopefully I won't be too bad when I get out there. So ****ing pumped though, I've missed it all winter.

****ing right doggy. The weather is great, the courses are fresh, and this Saturday is my first opportunity in 5 months to get a round in.
Friday is payday too, so I'm taking my dad to one of the best courses around, like 200 dollar green fee type courses. Will take some pics to post.
I just hope I don't take it too serious seeing as it's my first round in forever. I know blisters are coming too, got to remember to get some athletic tape. Gonna try to just have fun. Get a cart, 6 pack, and enjoy the course. If I keep it under under 80 I'll be content, lol.

I've had my taylor made nubbins for over 10 years now I think. I love it, but it's time to get a new one.
I can't really decide though. At this point in my game, I need the birdie putts to fall. When I'm playing, I'm hitting 10 fairways, and 15-16 greens on average. That mean's that basically I've got a good 15 or so birdie putts a round.
So, at this point, I need my approach shots to dig in closer (when last season ended, I was really starting to nail the approaches with my wedges), and I need those 10-15 footers to fall more often.
So back to my original point, I can't decide if I should jump to a mallet style for more stability, and hopefully that will give my putting that extra boost and give me more birdies, or stick with the blade, upgrade to the scotty, and just let my skill progress naturally with what I'm used to, instead of switching styles.
Opinions?

So the high school golf season is supposed to kick off on Monday, but with the 8 inches of snow we just got that won't be happening.

By season kicking off I'm gonna assume you mean matches, then yeah that does suck. So you probably wont be golfing for another few weeks.
If you're talking about practices then it's stupid you guys don't practice indoors.
