Douglas Adams is by far my favorite author. He writes jokes in base 13.

I just read the first book of the series, and thought it was all right. I came here to ask you all if you have to read the rest of the series to get the full scope of how good this book really is? Because I really didn't see anything too special about the first one. But am interested in reading further.

I thought the first one was pretty good, but "The Restraunt at the End of The Universe" and "Life the Universe and Everything" were much more enjoyabale for me.
