I can't believe hunters literally go and shoot anything that moves.

Just ran into a thread on t-nation powerlifting forum:

Quote:
Little about myself, I have been working out for over 14 years, my main goal always had been symmetry and aesthetics. was never really huge on strength and power. over 2012 i reached a new bench press pr and also fell in love with Olympic lifts.
Quote:
i did 5/3/1 last year, it was great, got me to 230 bench from 190, 315 squat and 400dl, 160 OHP.
Tl;Dr: It took some guy 14 years to hit a 230 bench, 315 squat, and 400 deadlift.

Seriously, I had those numbers within a year of heavy lifting in high school, and I dicked around for a lot of that time. Unless this guy is a 114 pounder, he needs to end his life, or at the least, his lifting "career".

I'm absolutely positive that this example is not atypical of your average gym goer.

Actually better, since he squats.

The average gym goer benches 18 times a week, so they usually end up doing better than 230, even if it's almost purely by accident.

benching 230 with full ROM would easily put you in the top 5% of people at my gym, many of which are older men who have probably been benching their entire lives.

jussaiyan

make that 275, and you're talking 1 person. And he's the guy who can do 415.

Not sure about that. I hardly see frat boys benching 230, I always see them struggling with 205.

Like today some ****ing Arabic douche stepped on my foot when I was benching 250, I'm thinking he was mad since all he had on the bar was 25s. lol

Left my folder in my calc II class today. Roll back at 7 pm to get it and find that the general calculus tutoring session is occurring in that room at that time. Decide to hang around in there to finish my calc I hw grading in the hope that calc III students would come in with questions so I could get some free learnings.

No good learnings to be had, though I did complete all of my grading while there. Chatted with the peer tutor afterwards while on my way to library ... got some weird feels about her that I ain't felt in awhile. She is a math and econ theory major...

I wished I asked her out to coffee or something then and there. Never been to tutoring session before this plus I finished my homework for Friday over the weekend and it was easy, proceed to go to tutoring again anyways?

In other news
After my 6th attempt over the course of 4 years, and a 5 month wait, my application finally got approved to take a physical down at MEPS (Which I should have no issue passing, knock on wood). Looks like a military career could be in my near future

Had a bad carb day...

Cinnamon cake, 1/2 white chocolate chip / macadamia nut cookie.

2 post-workout pop-tarts. 2x Myoplex Lite shakes for breakfast.

DOH!
