I would love to bid, but I will not have time to fly out to CA...they need to have some web bidding. If anything, it opens the door to many more bidders, and this willl result in more money for the company. It's a win - win situation.

Is it one large auction for everything? Or individual small auctions?

The "3 Fields" actually is 3 trailers of turf.
The NPPL turf for the 5/6 fields fit onto 3 trailers.

i don't know if you know this but when things get auctioned off they are owned by the auctioneers who in turn have bought the entire contents of the lot for an extremely low price compared to MSRP so the NPPL/PPL and its affiliates have already sold off everything. These guys are just using the NPPL's publicity from going under to sell all the stuff they used to own.

There are many auctions that let people bid over the internet even with large items. (Example: Barrett Jackson Car auction.) It would be the winning bidders responsibility to either pick up or find a means of shipping the item. The responsibility of the items then transfer to the highest bidder; so that should not be the reason that these are items can't be bid on through the internet.
I was just hoping for the availibility of internet bidding and saying that it could be a win-win situation. Well, at least the Cali field owners should get a great bargain.

Yes, I did know and understand that...but it doesn't change the fact that I would still like to be able to have a chance to bid, without buying a plane ticket to place a bid. I was hoping the auction company would have done more to allow more bidders, but I guess they're just ready to liquidate.

actually i believe you are completly wrong, the auction house is an instrument of the court to aquire as much money for the cliaments in the bankruptcy and earns a commision for their services

I believe that was what he was stating ( at least that's what I interpreted as him saying when I read it late last night.)
Anyway: Court/government/whomever has money involved in the failing company, will use the auction comany to regain the lost money. The auction company's job is to try and get as much money back by the resale of the failed comany's assets. This means the comany should try to get as many bidders as possible...the reason why I was hoping for internet bidding.
