Chicken fried steak

Anyone else had it before? Up in the northeast its not very popular but i found a recipe online and nmg it is incredible. You get the crunchy breading and then the savory steak. Best served with mashed potatoes, corn and garlic bread.

have i ever had it?....its the staple food of texans, my friend. and we have perfected it. i only wish i could allow you to indulge in what i consider the tastiest of our fried goods, but i regret to inform you that your going to have to make the trip down here to get the best of the best.

btw, it isnt referred to as breading....its batter

and fried okra and collard greens are staples of the meal. mashed potatoes are alright, but corn....it truly depends.

My favorite food of all time! It sucks that stupid seattle does not reallize the greatness of it so no places have it! But when I went to Germany I ate schnitzel for at least 1 meal a day to get my fix in. Same concept but better and with out the mashers.

My stepmom used to make it all the time, but then we started eating better. I really enjoyed it though.

Cracker Barrel is pretty good most of the time. Now if you want some REAL southern cookin, you go to the little ma and pa owned restraunts in the woods, IE: Home spun cafe, Lorettas, Pappa Jacks, and omfg the mother ****ing Hog Mountain Biscuit Store. I feel so bad that most people will never get to try these places in their lifetime. Every one of those restraunts makes everything from scratch, no heat lamps, no microwaves, no fake additives for flavor, it's all 100 percent 5th generation southern cookin.

i just felt like this needed to be brought back, because of how delicious chicken fried steak is.

I personally find it to be the best a PETRO truck stops.
The king of the road deal is glorious. 2 pieces of chicken fried steak with white gravy, mashed potatos with brown gravy, and unlimted trips to the soup and salad bar for like 9.99

I always thought Country Fried Steak came with brown gravy, Chicken Fried Steak came with white gravy, or vice versa, I'm not sure, but I'm pretty sure the difference between the two dishes is the gravy that's served with it.

There are a few places around here that have some really good chicken fried steak, you just have to know where to look and not be afraid to dine at a hole in the wall type place.

We had chicken fried steak Wednesdays in middle school (in Dallas). It was crappy and it was still delicious. Now, I get it anytime I'm in a crappy diner, becuase its always the best thing on the menu in a hole in the wall.
