Upgrade?

Hey guys I was wondering if I should sell my Bob Long Marq 7. I want to upgrade to an Invert Mini or Empire Axe. The Marq 7 is in very good condition and is a tiny bit scratched in places. Also has an OLED board. Is it worth upgrading, because I know it's from 2007 I think. So the value will only go down if I hold on to it. Give me some ideas.
Thanks

.

I would say a Mini is IN NO WAY an upgrade.

Possible an axe, but I'd just stick with it.

Axe vs Marq 7 is all preference. Getting a mini would be a huge downgrade. I prefer the Axe because of the ergonomics, but Marqs are great guns. If you get a chance, try out an Axe, because thats really the only way you can decide between these two guns

Ok, I didn't think the mini would be an upgrade. I could get the Axe for 400$ because of my sponsorship, but that would probably be more than what the Marq would sell for. How much is the Marq worth would you say?

The only reason to dump a marq is if you have severe muscular atrophy all of a sudden and can't bear the weight of one.

Other than that, a well loved marq will show about zero negative aspects compared to those found in any current mid-grade marker.

The only "cheap" paintball gun that could be considered an even slide in my book is one that has a FASOR system in place, which is basically a stacked tube Axe, in design.

The Infinity Legend or Dangerous Power FX would be a super consistent, versatile and reliable platform to shift to, but that's just my idea.

Other than that, keep the marq.

Maybe throw in your favorite trigger or a Supercharger engine. If you buy a closer later on, all upgrades are transferable. Best part about the newer Marqs like the Rapper and Closer/CloserEXP are that they are effectively the same system, the main difference being the improved ergonomics and lighter weight.

Putting that to note, you can always sell the marq7 for $325-$340, then add $100 and get a nicely upgraded Closer.

All ideas.

That's not a true sponsorship. Getting less than 15% off a mid-range marker could be considered a partial/minor sponsorship, but I bet you had to buy other stuff with it as well, right?

It's just a package deal for novices to keep their business if they do happen to pursue paintballing as a a serious shtick.

A mini with a relay asa, luker bolt ,new board ,grip extrender and a ul will shoot "tits" properly tuned, I work with mini atleast twice a month, gotten my fair share of knowledge about those, but , on the other a marq is a marq will put shoot a stock axe or mini any day, even if it shoots like "****"

Keep that marq, save your money, and buy another high-end. Mid range guns are just horrid these days, imo.

If you have a older "tuned" gun that was a high end and know how to maintain it. Keep it.

I bought an AXE because I decided to get back into the hobby. I had a
dm6 at home. Before I bought the axe, I went through the dm and "tuned" it. I heard all the hype about the axe, how easy it was to clean, etc etc. Figured what the hell and bought it. I'll tell you..... I'll take my "tuned" dm6 over the AXE ANY DAY of the week. The only thing better was the ergonomics and looks. Right now, I'm wishing that I would of kept the dm and sold the axe. But, that pots been pissed in so whatever.
