Unfortunately, they do not like sealed boxes.

I'd go with the E8v2 for sealed purposes.
I'd swear its more than 16mm, but who knows. That ****er moves.

Considering those little 6.5" Exodus Anarchies do 12mm one-way, I assume the SA8 can probably do 16mm one-way or 32mm peak to peak

4 gauge should be sufficient to power a 4 channel speaker amp, shouldn't it?

That's entirely dependent on how big of a 4channel it is.

Short answer: most likely.

4ga should be fine unless you have a pretty crazy setup going. For just 60-100wrms like you'll most likely be running, it should be good.

Been a long time since I've visited this forum, but I'm in the market for a 1000w RMS subwoofer @ 2ohms, anyone have suggestions. I have heard the sundown sa12d2 can handle it but after blowing 2 previous subwoofers I'm really looking to spend some money on one I wont/cant blow.....

Dd 3512?

Some people throw WAY more than 1000wrms at them daily. Google says people are going up to 2000w on them.

I'm running 2 Alpine 1000rms amps to my Sundown SA12 and it handles absolutely anything. I highly recommend it.

I need to start fixing rattles

Clean power is everything.

If you're popping subs, they were either ****, or they werent cooling right, or you're clipping hard.

You mean subs that are built well enough that Sundown offers a 2 year warranty, and even if you manage to mess it up via user error, they will sell you a new one at their cost?
Sounds like a damn well built sub to me. Hell, a custom version of the SA8v.2 has hit 150.8db at SBN.

Sorry, I'll get off the SA's nuts now. Mine have just really impressed me since I've had them.

I'm not one of "those guys" that drives around blasting music. I can run both amps all day long, but I never use their full potential during daily driving.

Out of curiosity, anyone ever tapped into their AC system before?

With very little space in my Jeep, I had to mount both amplifiers under my back seat with no room above them. After about an hour and a half full tilt, the subwoofer amplifier begins to overheat (it's not fan cooled like the 4 channel). I was thinking of tapping into the AC system and running a small hose to the back seat to cool the area... anyone have any ideas/thoughts on this, or suggestions on how to actually do it?

Other alternative would be to just mount a couple 12v computer fans back there and hope they move enough air to cool it, I just thought it'd be pretty sweet to have the AC system cool it.

I just got an iStreamer for $140 on ebay. One step closer to the iPad dash install. Hope to start on the dash in the next couple weeks, gotta get some CA glue and some fiberglass. Just need someone to buy my 4200 and EPX2 so I can grab a 360.3

My next project will be building a dash mount for an iPad that sits right over my HU. Shouldn't even be able to see the HU when the iPad is mounted, but everything will still be controlled via the HU. It has bluetooth connectivity so just going to connect the iPad that way.

Not as great looking as completely replacing the HU, but at least this way it's much cheaper/easier.

EDIT: Here's a great example of what I want to do.
