from what i've been told what usually happens when you have limited paint in a tournament settings is: everyone breaks outs, not a whole lot of shooting, alot of head checking to try and get people to waste their paint (don't get me wrong there is some shooting), then the last minute of play a ton of run throughs.
IMO i think limited paint becomes more enjoyable in a more of a just pump gathering. were pump players just get together to play against other pump players. whether its in the woods, or a speedball field. and not so much in a tournament setting. not saying this is everyones views, just from what i have seen, experienced, and from what others have told me of their experiences.
there are players and teams that like to play limited paint speedball/wood tournaments out there.
the question though, Is there enough teams in the area to be able to have a successful limited paint tournament?
