Creatine

I've been working out for about ~6 months now, nothing extreme, I've seen some decent gains. The most recent bottle of whey that I've picked up has creatine in it, and it seems to be adding a decent amount of weight/bulk. I've read a lot about creatine, and it seems to be pretty safe from what I've read. I'm only a novice lifter, so what are your opinions on it?

creatine is a steroid. i mean it's good if you want to get big fast but it's not healthy for you in the long run.

Still clueless as to why people think creatine is some wonder supplement.

I never said any of that...I bought the whey with just the intention of gaining some weight and now found out that it contains creatine.

Its not the creatine, it's you eating well and doing work. Congrats, you achieved something.

Ok, missing the point again. My question is whether or not the rest of your regulars on this forum think it is healthy/worth taking.

I think you have not read enough about creatine or you would know your answer.

We are not talking about steriods/ph/ds/aas here.

If I can decipher your answer correctly, are you saying that it is OK to take?

it's fine to take bro. nothing bad will happen. the only downside (if you want to call it that) is that you should drink a good amount of water and in doing so you'll start peeing more. you should be drinking a lot of water anyway though.

What does that have to with supplementing creatine? I am going to take a guess he is over the age of 14.

yes, but for most people, your body is still growing until your early 20's. so creatine has the ability to have more side effects in teenagers/young adults. don't get me wrong i know plenty of teenagers who take creatine supplements and are fine.

imo if you are trying to build muscle, the largest factor is eating healthy proteins, carbs, and fats and plenty of them, while taking a good protein and working out.

You are making creatine sound like a roid.

I was getting plenty of creatine when I was 8 years old and feasting on steaks/burgers.

You're right, in a sense. But that's a pretty broad statement, you don't have to do a lot of things...
