Sorry to hijack your thread. I must say, it's cool to see other people with the same ideas. Keep up the good work.

Does your launcher auto rotate?

Details! Details!

....break down on how the loading operates, what you use for an air valve, where IS the air valve, holding tank size, overall construction, ETC.........

The OP version at the top of the thread looks fairly simple to construct and practical. Please enlighten us on how you put her together.

Q, that's an awesome design. Good job!!!

Loadiong mine is easy, just install the rockets in to the tubes from behind.

the air valve is a Warmachine launcher valve. I took it out of one of thier launchers and build my own... I use a 12oz CO2 tank and get 20-24 shots out of it. operating pressure it 150 psi to send a rocket 80 yards at 175fps. the pressure tube is 1/4 inch aluminum tube that polished. It has a 250psi safety valve in the grip and the regulator is on the far back end (also from Warmachine). the barrel and tubes are 2" pvc, but considering building another with all aluminum. I might consider putting together plans if I can find a reliable source for the launcher valves. Warmachine only sells them in their launchers for liability reasons....

Damonwill check out the Havok launcher by Metadyne. The valving unit seperates from the barrel leaving a power unit about 2 1/4" in diameter by 4 inches long or so that contains all the regs and firing mechanisms. Might be an easy adaptation to your rotating cylinder.

But will they just sell the firing system? I'm heard that they will not....like most other commerical launcher companies... Liability is thier usual reason. (not that that is something to ignore)

No idea if Metadyne will sell the components seperate but there seems to be a couple custom shops/manufactures working up aftermarket pieces for them so it may be an option.

I have a sling for mine. Wear it on my pack and carry a P90 for regular play. Always hated to be playing and needed a rocket and didn't have one. And never liked just running around with a rocket launcher. Mine launcher is pretty light and I don't even remember its on my pack...until I need it.

It weighs 13 pounds. It makes for a good workout carrying it around all weekend. Sometimes I'll carry my tac 8 on the vest. but usually not. I'm 51 years old and carrying everything for the tac-8 and the launcher is rough.

A request from both of the builders, please, more details on what you used for rotating mechanisms and how you index and line up the cylinders to the barrel. I've been kicking around a prototype idea for a similar design, but that part has proven to be the most challenging so far.

Are either of you guys familiar with the spudfiles forums?

I'm still working on the auto rotation system. Mine is manual. I have two designs that I've build and they worked pretty well, but I'm looking to improve. The easiest way is to have a rotational spring and "pre-rotate" the cylinder when you load it, the just have a ratcheting system connected to the trigger.

I asked the same thing a couple months ago, but never found anything. However, I'm working on one to offer, but it won't be avail for a couple months. Probably this summer. It will be a valve, reg, safety valve and pressure chamber in one small package. All you'd have to add it the barrel, grip, air supply, etc.

In fact, any input you guys have on what you would like it to be would be helpful. I have to main valve, the reg, and the safety valve complete. I just have to refind the design to make it reliable and inexpensive. So any features or specs you'd like it to have, speak up now....or type up now.
