What if tournament bunkers were coated in this?

You wouldn't have to replace a set because your lazy staff ruined them by not washing off the paint or letting it dry on in the sun... This is AWESOME.+

Quote:
Ultra-Ever Dry is a superhydrophobic (water) and oleophobic (hydrocarbons) coating that will completely repel almost any liquid. Ultra-Ever Dry uses proprietary nanotechnology to coat an object and create a barrier of air on its surface. This barrier repels water, oil and other liquids unlike any coating seen before. The other breakthrough associated with Ultra-Ever Dry is the superior coating adherence and abrasion resistance allowing it to be used in all kinds of applications where durability is required.

GatSplat - you seem to the guru of bunker cleaning around here - Give this stuff a try!

Cool Video. It really doesn't tell you much though. I could see that having so many applications.

Holy wow. I wonder how it would hold up to the abuse of being shot with paintballs numerous times

In the application vid, it says the coating will fail if cleaned with any soap or solvent, as well as high pressure water. Excessive handling and abrasion ( such as getting shot with paintballs) will cause a reduction in performance. I don't think this coating would last long enough to be worth the application time.

I was looking at this product, but the sheer expense of coating an entire wield would be ludacris!
Check out this video of superhydrophobic coating:

This sounds great, but not for paintball bunkers. The problem would be splatter. We've all seen players covered in splatter, but no hits. This product would turn all paint that hits a bunker into spray. You'd have giant messy piles of paint at the base of each bunker, and players would wear the rest, which would make paintball messier then it already is. It would be nice for chrono boxes but I doubt it could take the abuse. Sweat product but it won't work well for paintball.

Its a step in the right direction at least. Couple years of changes and testing. Paintball's quite possibly may not harm it.

1:52. The cinder block on the left is a different color. Would it do that to the bunkers?

Same at 3:50

The product is a 90% opaque white coating. It is basic nanotechnology and has about a 300% markup from material costs. a quick look at their MSDS shows it's mostly just a solvent system with some proprietary additives. Upon looking at the FDA and USDA forms submitted, the proprietary additives aren't at all proprietary.
