Empire Axe, low FPS

Ever since I bough this Axe (brand new) I noticed that the FPS wont go any higher than 250, it was also inconsistant until the spring was swapped. The Velocity adjuster is backed out all the way. I've messed with the regulator, putting it to 200 but I still get the same outcome. The dwell setting was at 28 flashes. Im afraid my boss v2 wont help much but ill be trying it out this Sunday to see if it fixes my low FPS. What might be the cause of this?

I believe if you turn the back cap out too far, your FPS will start going back down. There's sort of a sweet spot around 1.5-2 turns out from all the way in where it should peak. Maybe try that? And I'm guessing you've tried, but brand new batteries are often a lifesaver.

An underbored barrel will give you a slightly higher FPS.

Clean and lube your poppet. That is the most common issue with low velocity.

Thanks guys, I greased the new bolt & bolt carrier. Ill mess with the velocity adjuster Sunday. and I'll try swapping out the battery to see if it helps. I'll try underboring once I get my hands on another barrel or freak insert. I decided to buy a 10" barrel. (been using a 14") curious to see how it affects my game.

Problem: I usually play at 250FPS because that's my usual (indoor) field's limit. I have my gun tuned for 250fps at 4ms dwell / 140PSI.

Went to an outdoor field today and couldn't hit 280 without re-lubing my poppet, upping my dwell by a full point, turning my adjuster in (.5 turns out) and upping my PSI to 160. Totally consistent though, best consistency I've seen so far from my Axe (+/- 5fps).

I was thinking maybe the heat might've caused this, any thoughts?
