My ram gets greased 4 times a season. My bolt gets wiped down after ever day of play.

Considering how much paint I shoot, that should be a good testament. As long as before the season starts, you do a full teardown, you shouldn't ever need to do another one until it is over.

I read the manual cover to cover(the 2k2 and 2k5 manual I downloaded off the Bob Long website). I read all of the stickies one by one. And I plan on doing the proper maintenance.

The point I was making with the above post was how I define a 100% reliable and bullet proof gun. Then later I stated that I wanted a gun that can be maintained without having to take it entirely apart after every time I play paintball.

I CAN take it apart and put it back together without any problem, I would just prefer to do so as little as often.

Basically the plan:
After every day of paintball: clean and lube the ram, wipe down the gun, cleaning the eyes, breach, and opening the frame and cleaning out the paint with Q-tips.
Every 6 cases or 6 months(whichever comes first): Clean and rebuild the LPR and HPR
Every year or 12 cases(whichever comes first): break the entire gun down to clean and relube it.
go for 10 cases or 6 months, and rebuild at 20 cases or 12 months.

I rarely lubed my guns. I never had to clean paint off my gun because i never got shot in my gun.

You cannot possibly expect anyone to believe this. I was reffing when I had the pleasure of having Chad Busiere(of Tampa Bay Damage) show up for some recball and even he got shot out every so often.

Also, if you are some kind of paintball prodigy, your mask and gun are the only places you should get hit if you're playing with perfect form because the gun and your mask are the only parts you should be showing when snap shooting or holding a lane.

rarely do you get shot head on, really. If that were the case it would be a never ending snap shooting battle. Usually you get shot out from the side because someone gets a line on you from a different angle.

This.

I would always have to stay back for a good portion of a recball game because I hated getting pinched in smaller bunkers or shot in the back of the head when my team disappeared and I had no idea.. I was a back player, if I got shot in my gun, I was not doing my job. Most of the time I got shot was in the back when my tape dropped on one side or the other. Or I would take a hopper hit since I used a rotor with the high cap top and an exalt feed gate.

BTW, I have known the original TBD guys since they were recball players. Ramsi, chad, spense watched those guys go from impulse and cocker shooting kids, to pro players.

I bet I get hit in the gun less than 5 times a year. And even then it is either a feedneck or front reg/hand hit.

Never said I don't get hit. I just don't get hit in the gun unless I do something really dumb.

I play recball, i get shot alot.. Primarily by my own team since when i do play it is in the woods. I like to flank the other team and shoot them all in the *** when given to chance. Only problem is most of the time my own team thinks i am an enemy

Hey all!

I think I'll be buying me a used motorcycle this week after I get my taxes to learn on. I have a few buddies who ride, and are pushing me to get a bike.

Thats like saying Ferrari makes some excellent priced beginner cars...

A comparable Kawasaki is about $2,000 cheaper than a Ducati. You're better off buying a 5 year old bike from one of the bigger manufacturers (kawasaki, honda, yamaha, suzuki) as a beginner bike.
