Removing Paint from Warrior FeedNeck Qlock

Guys, I was thinking of a way you can remove the color from Q-Lock that comes with Warrior FeedNeck for Ion XE. I have it in Black, and i wanted to remove black color so i can paint it Silver. Let me know, what spray paint i can use.. I am buying Primer Spray, Silver Spray Paint, Clear Coat Spray. Please advise. Thanks in advance

buy a silver feedneck, sell your black one , you will be much happier with the results.

Parts for paintball guns are anodized, not spray painted. Anodized parts have the metal dyed. Anything spraypainted will eventually scratch, crack, chip and wear terribly.

Are you talking about removing the color from the clamp or what? A Q-lock is a clamping feedneck made by Smart Parts and is not an actual type of part.

To learn how to remove anno, check out the Anodization Sub Forum of the Voided Warranty Forum

Some aircraft paint stripper and high grit sandpaper is what you're going to need to remove the ano.

I think I read break cleaner will strip ano off as well, least I think thats what it was. I might be wrong but im pretty sure I read somewhere else as well that the problem with stripping ano is, after its stripped you have to have it reannodized in a certain time frame or it will oxidize pretty quickly.

Why not just polish it really well and just put some clear coat on it.... will save a lot of time and expense with the ano process

I don't have tools to polish.. and i can leave it unannoed but i am afraid of oxidation, because i de-annoed my back out bolt from Ion. :d If i can just use polishing.. would this prevent from oxidation? or is it just better off getting annoed. I found a local place here that does anno.. will find out how much it cost. I have to get it Polished first then Annoed so i can have glossy look.

If you had a place to do it they would have done the stripping process for you probably at the same price that would have normally. Just call them and do what you need to do.

Here's the link to the anodizing forum for anymore questions about the process since they'll be more help than most members here.
