I need some help with a shocker eye screw

I got a shocktech nxt body knowing it would need some work but I've hit a problem I just don't have the equipment for. The screw was stripped by the previous owner and they attempted to drill it out but ended up making the problem worse. I need the screw and the surrounding area drilled out, threaded, and a helicoil insert made for the eye screw.

if your going to ano the gun keep in mind that you'll need to do the helicoil fix after ano.( or at least put the coil in after ano)

you could also have the hole tig'd shut and then machined flat and re drilled/tapped. the eye socket should cover most if not all the HAZ.

Is this hole blind or through? Given this isn't a high stress thread like a grip frame I think putting an aluminum thread insert in is appropriate. That way you won't have to insert the steel coil later and the inside of the body can be similar to it's original condition, anodizing and all.

Leave it,When I do the break beam mill I do not tap threads for the second eye for my sfts.

The eye cover will host it without moving.

well that would make sense, except this isnt an sft lol

if it were mine, id just drill and tap for a slightly larger screw.
