We lost a few in Afghanistan recently, including a sniper (hence the sniper escort for the hearse). Thought this was a cool way to farewell them - every unit have their own haka. I dunno this section much - is this the right place to post?
And um... I don't want this to come across like "our sendoffs are better than yours" or anything. Just thought people might find it interesting, and to remind people that many countries have lost soldiers in Afghanistan.

All of us here recognize the sacrifices made from those around us. We all understand there is a time and place to bull**** with one another and have that rivalry, but we all take this seriously, as we have all lost friends and family. Welcome.
Is that really dirty NZ English they're speaking, or some native tongue ( as in native prior to English settlement)?

Got a lot more style and substance than seeing those smiling, lying douches we put into office talking about a "ultimate sacrifice," and pretending to care.
