I got a few rolls of the stuff they wrap tennis rackets in. Put some on the grip and on the front board mount. feels great and its cheap too.

Just got my Boss Bolt dialed in. New axe, started with the short spring, and the recommended settings using Freak insert 682 with Deadlywinds CF...fps was low increased to up around 180 but getting huge different lfrom 250-290.
Put medium spring in increased dwell to 5 and regulator at 160. BINGO! Getting 285-290. Quick question I have the Redline it has another setting called ABS Dwell which is default at 0. Should I set this? I'm unclear what this setting is for.
I just ordered the O rings for the Bolt Carrier currently it has the stock ones on it. After I install the new O rings on the carrier should I expect to have to retune the bolt? Or should I expect the same performance.
Thanks in advance
Ken

You should only have to bump that up if you are experiencing bolt stick. ABS= Anti Bolt Stick. If you aren't, then I would leave it at 0.
Im assuming you are talking about the bolt guide orings. After I installed my infamous guide rings I had to drop the pressure about 5-8 psi. Settings will vary from user to user of course. Glad to see you found settings that worked well for ya.

Just wanted to know, is it normal to have the reg pressure close to 200psi to chrono using the softest on paint settings? Just seemed high to me

Where is you back cap set? Are you underboring? The pressure should be up a little from the normal setup but not a lot.

Back cap at 1.5 turns, unsure on the paint. I was shooting .688 UL as its the only barrel I have. Would I be able to compensate using the back cap or would that no longer be the ideal position for the poppet?

- And I also read that with the long spring it will also be less air efficient, but is that less efficient than the stock bolt and spring? Or just compared to the shorter springs?
If the longer spring is just less efficient compared to the other springs, rather than less efficient compared to the stock bolt and spring, then that's perfectly fine, I don't have a problem with the Axe's stock bolt and spring's efficiency, but if it is worse then I do...

Someone please answer this because I'm curious myself

Your barrel being .688 and if your paint was on the small side, it makes sense that you had to turn up the pressure to get the FPS you need. Smaller barrel will make a huge difference, save a few pennies and check out the Lurker barrel. It is a very fair price.

No it should not be less efficient then the stock setup. Using the stock spring with any of the Boss Bolts is not a good idea.

There is no preferred size, you must bore test the paint you are shooting to know which bore size you need. If the balls roll right through your barrel, then you need to size down until you can barely blow them out with lung power. Lung power might not even be enough. Most days I use my .684 other days I use my .680 all depends.

I prefer something in the .679-.680 area. That is all I use almost all of the time.

dude how to size paint I'm just saying everyone is picky around here about this whole axe set up. I've used a .689 on every other gun no problems. Y is there problems with it on a axe?

The axe runs a little better when it has some back pressure from underboring to help get that valve closed again quickly. Also will help solve any blowback issues, should you be having them.

Yeah with the lighter bolt it needs the under bore to shoot consistent.
