since when is freedom of speech applicable at all in todays society? I know I could get fired for saying a lot less, and it's not so much that it's not their right as it is that it's not professional or thoughful, or tasteful in the least, if this is how they want to run their league into the ground then by all means it's their constitutional right.

Even if you're not offended, any one who isn't an idiot could see where it COULD BE offensive. Could you imagine the uproar if any other major, more well known, allegedly "National" level organization used such an advertisement?
Forgive us for being concerned with the way our sport is represented at the highest levels. There are more than five mustachioed men in the history of mankind, and certainly more than a few in the recent pop culture lexicon who could've been used in lieu of guys like Hitler and Stalin etc.
Ask yourselves this, if it was your business, would you be comfortable running such an advertisement during your biggest, most well publicized event of the year? You'd be willing to bet your living on most people looking at that and laughing it off? Those of you who would are braver men than I.

I understand that you're not offended, but think of how this portrays paintball. For those of you who aren't offended, I'm glad you're not to some extent, it implies you haven't personally been affected by genocide but not everyone is that lucky.
Please note that Gaddafi doesn't have a mustache. . .

Ya, I'll make sure to tell anyone who might have looked to advertise with the NPPL or support it finically to just turn it off. This is a fantastic solution.

Chances are they are not in the market to support it to promote paintball. They want to make money. If they see that opportunity, I highly doubt that this will deter them.

So we can throw in a picture from 9/11 too? Since it's just a picture, it doesn't matter.
If you don't understand the significance of those photographs, you shouldn't be commenting on them. There's nothing funny about millions of people getting murdered. There are many tasteful ways to portray evil in the name of humor. This isn't one of them.

Freedom of speech has absolutely nothing to do with your works' rules. For instance, I can't say "First Amendment!!!" after I get suspended for telling the principal to go **** himself. It reads and I quote:
Quote:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
|
Just look up Snyder v. Phelps and you'll see what i'm talking about. People make unpopular decisions that everyone but themselves disagree with. You can't go and say that freedom of speech doesn't apply to them because you don't like it.
It's satire, get over it.

Funniest damn post in this thread.
If you really had the mental capacity of an adult you wouldn't have to hurl insults to get your point across.
Also, when trying to belittle someones intelligence you might want to use spell check. Firefox ftw.
EDIT: and to stay on topic. People need to realize that just because you have the right to do something that does not mean it is right to do it. NPPL should remove the link and release an apology.

Stupid conspiracy theorist. You obviously have zero idea who most of those people are if youre comparing them to anything other than the death toll in the Civil War.

This is absolutely disgusting. I am appalled. NPPL should be ashamed of themselves. How can a league support the actions of Jabba the Hutt??

Thanks for addressing the issue, I will delete it after I'm sure that everyone that would want to see it sees it.
