[Dark Side]

Must have a steel toe as I am in Aircraft MX. I despise Bellevilles which is what we were issued. I can't find anything that looks comfortable while at the same time being sturdy enough to take the abuse my job will throw at them. Any suggestions?

Just get a pair of Rockies, they're expensive but worth it. Why waste your money on tan boots when you return from the AOR you can't wear them anymore...

For how much they are, you shouldn't have to go through the pain of having to break your feet in like you do. My heel still hurts when wearing them.

So $200 for a pair of boots I may need to break in? Anybody have suggestions on boots with more canvas? I like my Corcoran Marauders but hate how quickly the sole wears out.

The boots are awesome, it's the heal fitment that ****s with me. If it was stitched normally I would love them.

What is odd about the heel?

The stitching is about 3 inches up the heal, right where it bends, causing it to rub the **** out of it. If it didn't have that, it would be awesome. It may not bother you, but everyone I know who has them deals with the same problem.

Thanks for the info. Not willing to blow $200 on something like that. Any other good suggestions?

How well do they hold up? Feeling like I'm wearing normal shoes would be great, but I'm not going to pay for them to wear out quick.

I've always worn Oakley Assaults while deployed. (Yes my COMBAT DEPLOYMENTS Mike) and never had issues with them. Im a lazy fat**** officer though so what do I know.

Oakley boots are pretty well known for their tendency to wear out quick when you're doing lots of patrols and stuff.

of course... in aircraft stuff, you won't be patrolling, so they'd probably be fine.




and with the Rocky's... I never had the ill-fitting problem, but I tried them on in the store and walked around in 'em, and they felt perfect for my foot.

I'd like to think that was sarcasm just now. So all in all you like them? Would you wear them over other brands you have tried?

Yeah they're comfortable as hell. I went through 2 pairs a deployment, but they were worth it in my opinion, and you wont be destroying them.
