NPPL/USPL illegal markers....

I've been reading through the NPPL/USPL rules, and there is nothing that states HOW they are going to test the markers for bounce.

Is there a standard that has been in place that is not mentioned in the rules?

I'm hoping this isn't just a referee's discretion rule.

Anyone have any info on this?

usally if a field ref thinks ur marker is bouncing he will pull ur gun after the game ( he also has the right to pull it during but most will let u finish the game) check it himself show the head ref, than the head ref will call the ultamite ref to the field and show him the bouncing gun and from there it will be his decssion. my suggestion to you will be to have ur marker tech'd or fixed so you have no bounce at all, that is always the smartest way to go!!!!! ( i did not ref the USPL last year but they were going on NPPL rules and from what i understand there has yet to be a rule change or amendment)

oh yeah i have a question too

what if your gun is perfectly fine but

it only fires ONE ball when banging your hand against the tank

is that considered "illegal" when/if a ref checks it after a game?

Yes, that's considered illegal. The only time your marker should fire is when you physically pull the trigger.

A little tip: it's generally a bad idea to remove the return mechanism for your marker's trigger, whether it be a spring or magnet or some other fancy doodad. It may give you a shorter, quicker pull but it will always make bounce much more prevalent. I say this because most of the people who can make their gun fire just by hitting the tank have usually removed their trigger's return mechanism.

I'm not concerned about the tank test, what concerns me is the super slow trigger pull, or weird trigger pull test. Neither of which actually replicate a normal trigger pull. I've had refs try to play my marker like a violin to try to get it to bounce. I just dont want to be hassled at all. I just want to play paintball.

I can get any electronic marker I want to bounce using a super slow pull. I'm sure most refs can do the same.
