I refuse to be part of this "revolution". I don't care if the gun is lighter, I'm not a wimp. I don't care if it's cheaper, I'm not giving up the gear I've spent years collecting. I've seen the test results and understand the physics, I'm not going to be duped by marketing hype. I'll stick with .68 cal, if I can no longer play with my .68 cal gear I'll quit.

id be all for it if the performance of the ball was up to par with .68 cal.

im against .50cal because it doesnt perform as well and i dont want to play on a smaller field

There's quite a few conversion kits for high end markers that were prototyped/explored/whatever. If .50 becomes the norm, it seems that most highend manufacturers (or 3rd party) will come out with a conversion kit.

Would I make the switch of my own free will? Nope. I've spent too many years playing with .68 to just jump ship. I've run the physics, too. I'm not yet convinced .50 is even viable. We'll see.

If all of a sudden .68 was outlawed for whatever reason, would I quit? No. I'd be pissed that most of my gear is unusable, but I'd still play the game and love it . I'm honestly surprised that people are so emotionally attached to a certain caliber. I will fight .50 'til the end, simply based on the science. I won't quit because I have to shoot a smaller ball, though.

im pretty sure you would all quit for a couple weeks/months then get bored cuz theirz nuthing else to do in yur life and buy the conversion kit so u could keep playing. My opinion dont reply

people that make a living with paintball and those that have an adiction with it (the ones to need to play as often as possible like me).50 cal lower prices look good .I'm not saying that I will sell my closer and get a nano but it's been a while now since the "revolution" started and belive me is defently something i'm looking in to.

I'm with all of you that don't like the performence of the .50 cal but it is a real solution for the rental and begginer market .

i own 6 guns, and am probably as addicted as anyone else, and i have no desire to buy into .50, regardless of the price. i'll gladly spend $5-$10 more per case to get paint that breaks. might save money in the long run, since i'd need fewer shots to get one that breaks.

Cheaper prices for paint is bull**** anyway considering paintballs are just gelatin and dye the prices we pay on a case are already grotesquely overinflated on .68 balls. **** making the paint smaller how bout you just make it cheaper because you can?

You pay way less per unit weight for .68 than .50.

You also seem to misunderstand how a typical economy functions.

also, paint is already considerably cheaper than it used to be, and the paint companies are hurting because of it. cheaper is not a good option, nor is it a viable one.

.50 cal has not caught on, why do you continue to argue over it? You're not going to change anything on here. Want to complain, go talk to the C.E.O.'s, but why waste the bandwidth.

.50 cal may pick up (although I doubt it), if it does, I'm sure most of you (yea, even you guys saying you won't ....you won't be able to resist playing), will pick up the conversions and gear to continue to play the sport you love. Some of you won't. Oh well, that's life, everyone will get over it. It's just a game (or a lifestyle, you choose).

So sir, although you are probably a great guy on and off the field, there are probably many like you who feel the same way....but the post was completely irrelevant to any progress in the discussion of .50 cal (I guess I'll deal with the fact it exists ). You guys want .50 cal to die? Why continue to bring publicity to it by arguing and complaining about it? I bet if you ignored it, it will go away....no joke.

no one is forcing you to do it, and plus for all we know and see now, its looking like the beta max compared to VHS
the guns and everything are smaller and lighter, more paint in loaders and pods,
but 68 exceeds in distance break ability and is already a standard.
which shows why the 68 is prevailing

Agreed. I have not even visited this forum for at least 4 months now, because it's the same arguements over and over and over. .50 is not gaining ground. I've played with over 75 different people this year so far, and not one of them is shooting a .50 cal gun, or even mentions .50 cal. In fact, I have not even heard the words ".50 cal" uttered on a paintball field, period. Let's let it die the slow, painful death it deserves...

I understood the physics before any tests were done - it can't compete with .68, plain and simple. But if other people want to use it, that's fine with me. I'll be laughing my *** off as my .68 paint blasts them in the face as their .50 paint rolls to a stop at my feet...
