looks like srgb, if it was adobe it would appear really desaturated online, which doesn't seem to be the case.

Its Adobe98. If your original is like that you need to be shooting at a higher bit depth.
I imagine it came along at some point in your editing/posting online.
Noise reduction, tonal changes, or file output could be the culprit, or just your image hoster raping your file (which flickr does)

i'm pretty sure that's just flickr compression Cory.
that would've looked pretty slick on the fish but getting focus would've been a *****. Do you have any idea about the second part of my fisheye post (np-e3 batts?)

Single b800 thru an octabox. I was shooting mid day (1-3pm) so the sun was directly above us giving it the nice rim lighting. I am pretty happy on how it turned out, without the rim lighting I think it wouldn't pop as much. The blue jeans probably would have blended in with the sky..
As far as banding:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colour_banding
I can see a little bit of it in the upper right hand area of the picture, in the sky. Like everyone else said Im pretty sure its from flickr.

did a little lightning shooting a while back at the beach. Trial and error, but mostly error...
didn't plan for the silhouette of the board walk, but I think it def. adds to the photo..

I'll be going to an old-timey air circus tomorrow. Hopefully the planes will be significantly closer than this last show. 100% crops get ****ing old.
