Me and my friend always talk about doing something wierd; like bring out a giant speaker on your back and blast music, bring a giant backpack of extra pods for other people, etc.

We're looking for a fun building project that will actually work on the field at big games and be helpful/funny.

No tanks, my field won't allow ATV's.

One or more "special" players who have props or cards or extra paint pods. Upon finding and / or marking said SP, the finder gets the goods. If the initial ammo supply is limited, these SPs become rather valuable. Or, maybe you only allow refills at the spawning point, and to load (players own/purchased paint) they have to turn in a card, acquired from a SP or perhaps various little "ammo" cards / props found on the field. Same concept can apply to AT and Tank rounds, maybe even "extra lives".

Logically extending the genre to include extra points for randomly selected / hidden objectives should be as simple as breaking out a game of Mario Bros, Donkey Kong, or similar and playing it for your inspiration.

Maybe include "bosses", if you have any tanks or gun emplacements. The "bosses" can only be taken out by using a Prop of one sort, say a LAW or similar.

Special features, such as power ups, ammo cards, props for taking out a boss / tank / gun emplacement can be place under a number of referee placed 5 gallon buckets, like the orange Home Depot buckets. Some could be "booby trapped" just to keep everyone on thier toes, though that may be counter productive, unless the "good" ones are of one shape or color, and the bad ones are different. It has litterally been decades since I have played any of those video games, so my memory is a bit fuzzy.

if you look up personal public address systems, you'll find something that clips onto your belt that will blast music like you suggested off of MP3 input

Having mortars set up in the area around a fort would make things very, very interesting. It would even be better if there were refs or field personnel manning them so that they were capturable. No matter if you were shelling or being shelled, you would feel like a bad***. And who doesn't want to call in a fire mission?

This might sound weird, but what if you got an rc car with a gun and camera mounted to it? Just a little car driving around shooting people, how awesome, however that could get expensive. Also, I had the idea last year, going to a scenario game to attach jumping beans to your chest. It was an Iraqi war battle, and I thought about suicide bombers, so jumping beans would pop off your chest into the enemy, but you would die as well. It could be use though to blow up bases, a good amount of the enemy, or objectives. Nothing more funny than seeing a guy pull a string and stuff shooting from him. That's just my thoughts though.

How about a good diffusable bomb with loud siren detonation notification? Something suitable for weather, physical abuse, etc.

i know its been done, bodyguard has one but his is pvc. he uses it at the bad landz, and his paint is more like a paintball grenade's paint. no one minds getting hit by it (except for the obvious fact of him shooting you out)
