Checking your gun prior to an event would be my suggestion. Just have a ref check your bps prior. Honestly, if you aren't playing events then getting that extra .5 bps out of your gun is kind of pointless. It is fast enough(8 bps is really as fast as you need for that actually) that you can put out a lane thick enough that nobody on this planet could run through anyways. I usually cap my gun around 10-15 depending on the field/rules/amount of experienced players.

when im playing during open play i always cap myself at like 15. i want to make sure i dont light some little kid up on accident. as for speed, i know i can reach over 20 but its nowhere near consistent. the trigger trainer on my spec-r's board shows that i avg around 17ish bps.
