Boston Reflex Autococker

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8S1p1XgORuk

I saw this video months ago and it really sparked my imagination after I looked everywhere trying to find either an autococker with the kit already installed or just the kit itself. I eventually gave up trying to find, one so I broke out my calliper and starting measuring some cocker grip frames and inputting the dimensions into Rhino 3D 3.0. So far this is what I’ve come up with . . .

Now all I needa do is finish up drawing my custom front block which will just add a second hole for another 3-way: after that I needa find a good machine shop to take it to. My plan is to get a barb splitter and split the air flow from the LPR into each 3-way. The second 3 way will be on the left side of the block and will be actuated by the pump arm just like with the Boston reflex cocker; then I'll run the hoses into the grip frame to the second ram inside it. If there are any drafters out there I could really use some help on how exactly to dimension/label threads, the help would be much appreciated. Lastly if anyone has/knows the thread count for the Rams, 3-Ways, and LRP's that info would also be appreciated.

Duel three ways wont exactly work bro....

I tried many many years ago to do the same thing and what happened was a timing nightmare.

The used some sort of long throw sliding airvalve that was not even close to a cocker three way.

I can't see why it would not work, what was the exact issue with the timing you had? I mean I've got a plan that I haven't exactly fine tunned yet, but im pretty sure I can get it to work with some tinkering/fine tuning. heres what i had planned . . .

Why not just split the air supply for both sets of pneumatics from one 3 qay? It would need excelent flow, but that would be simpler and lighter. I'm not an expert here, so that's just an idea.

Well I've gotta have two three ways because the ram in the trigger needs to be actavated when the bolt/Back-Block is all the way back; if i was to do it that way all the rams would go off and the same time, and that would cause the marker to short stroke. but if you were refering to the two rams on the front block thats there for ****s and giggles, or if you wanna change it up and make the gun pump from the left or the right side of the marker.

Oh, that makes a lot of sense; this is why I'm not an expert.

Well small set back the shop I went to could only make some on the parts I needed; they cant make my frame or front block but they could do everything else; they just wanted a lot of money to set up their machines so I decided I'm not droping the kind of they requested unless I can find a shop that can make everything required for the kit. As for the Banjo adapters I'll keep in mind several people might want one, so I'll get handfull made if I can find a shop that meets all of my needs.

Take this up with Anthony at Boston Paintball before you start producing them. You would cry if you knew what Tippmann paid for use of this system.

Well I figured it would be ok to build because I'm only building one for myself and I wouldnt sell/give it away; am I wrong in this asumption?

You are not wrong, you can build anything you want for yourself; although, connecting with the man that created it might get you some insight into troubleshooting problems.

I doubt Anthony would be the one to talk to about trouble shooting the marker. The man who designed it brought it to him on a napkin from what I was told. The biggest problem with the original design in my eyes is the connection between the ram arm and the three way arm. Just allot of stress on that arm, especially with the throw length on the original ram.

Pretty much hit the nail on the head with the creation of the Reflex - if it's anything, the JAM bolt was designed by drawing in the dirt with a stick, so at least the Reflex kit had a "diagram" that wouldn't be ruined by a strong breeze....

Little Anthony (T2) might talk your ear off about the desing, but big Anthony would want to talk before you produce more than one of them (or when people start saying "I'll take one").

another option to get around the asa adapter, would be to use a trilogy body and the LPR kit add on.
