i think having 2 formats is a good thing, but i dont think we should be fighting over which is better, maybe one league with 2 different divisions(formats) would be a good idea. if we do have 2 leagues again y dont they work together, like have all the final tournaments at world cup, one big tournament for all the leagues, that would bring every format together and allow the leagues to stop fighting over territory

I wonder if people are getting burned out on speculation and arguing over formats and rates of fire.
I am definitely looking forward to your announcement and would love to be involved.

Well isn't Tom For (owner of Arsenal) rich as hell? I remember an interview with team Arsenal in Paintball magazine saying that the guy would give the players cash to go gamble...

We should also consider bringing real tree's into the mix. They're quite the stable little bunkers... and you don't have to clean them... or inflate them... or pack them up when you're done!
12man in the woods, super awesome!

If this is true and Tom Fore and Chuck are getting this together then it should b successful. Chuck ran the NPPL well and Fore is an extremly savvy businessman. Those two together could pull it off, and nicely. Oh and 7-man isn't dead, just the (former) league that showcased it. Good luck Tom and Chuck!

not everyone wants one league or one format. psp has no reason jump into 7man or they would have already done so.
There are major issues with the psp. Personally, rate of fire. 15.4bps is excessive. Its not needed it turns kids into run and gun machine guns, not skill. I say cap it at 10 or 12bps and leave it alone.
Also, the nppl is easier to watch more spectator friendly. The psp is harder for someone outside of paintball to understand.
Both have alot of downtime, generally though nppl matches are more thought out and technical matches. These are easier to follow and the psp matches are more fast pace points with a lot of downtime.
NPPL format is much better in its current state, just was run by crappy people.

What? Are you just making that stuff up? Have you ever even been to a PSP event?
PSP hasn't had 15.4 bps in over a year. It was 13.3 ALL last year, and PSP has already stated it's going down even more for 2009.
And the statement that there is more downtime in XBall than in 7-man is, simply, ludicrous.
Which format is "Easier to follow" is more a matter of opinion, but if you don't even know what the rate of fire is, and think there is more downtime in XBall than 7-man, it would seem reasonable to expect that you have little to no actual experience with XBall.
I have a LOT of experience with XBall. I've televised it four years in a row. It is, in my opinion, ABSOLUTELY easier to follow than 7-man. Hang flag, one point. Get more points than the team you are playing, win. Simple.
7-man... not so much.
Now, if you think 7-man is more fun, or strategic, or whatever, that's certainly a valid opinion. There are lots of people who just plain like 7-man more than XBall. (Of course, to have an informed opinion, it's helpful to have actually at least seen both formats.) But to say it has less down time is just plain wrong, and to say it's easier to follow is a pretty tough argument.
