dc well be far from were you want to be you might want to stay some were in va and from fredricksburg it is an hour drive

i would suggest manassas alot of people are choosing to say further down on 66. but you could also head east into woodbridge area really the driving time is going to be about the same

check out sterling and ashburn. there are a couple new hotels in my neck of the woods (route 28 and sterling boulevard)

I travel to Pev's for our practices and Leesburg would def be your best bet, it's close and it's not too dead of a town

check Manassas, VA, its close, right off rte 66 and has a lot of resturants. Hotels are cheap, under $80/night.
