Snowboarding... what to do?
OK I am about to start snowboarding. I dont really know a bunch about the equpiment. Want a pretty nice set up for not alot of money. I mean not dirt cheap crap but pretty nice. I mean i am spoiled so money isnt that huge of a deal but i dont want to break the bank. so any help on that would be much appretiated. oohh and does anyone know where i can find some free snowboarding vids on the net?

I'm sure they do. I have a ski shop here in town that i can go to and get anything i want. Just something decent.

^ i hope your kidding. you can go to eternalsnow.com if u dont live near a shop or anything. burton's are good for a first board. so are forums.

Good luck its a ***** to learn at first, fortunatly for me i learned to board in an hour and was hitting jumps by the end of teh day. Ive been boarding for 4 years now and its an awsome sport.

i have a shop here in town called CD Ski and sport and can have them order me anything i want if they dont have it in stock. Just really want to learn. Another thing is size a big factor in snowboarding. I'm 5'10" 220 lbs, regular footed. Anyhelp on type of board size, and other things would really help.

first. Price again really isnt an issue. how much is a pretty nice setup? again i am not very noligable about the equipment yet.

try a 155-157 length
For your size and wieght should be good
For a pretty nice set up you are looking between 600-800 range. probably closer to 800
Everyone has their favorite stuff. Burton is a safe bet though. Everyone knows burton and I have never heard people say burton sucks. They might have a board they like better but usually everyone admits burton makes good stuff.
Bindings... Burton, Drake, or TechNIne don't even look at other brands
Boots...whatever is comfortable

oh... ok... well my set up was like 700-800 but i do have to work as the snowboard teacher. ok what are you goingt to be doing freestly or freeride?

thanks a million dude. That really really helps. And i dont know what kind of riding i am going to do yet. I just want to learn. After i get comfortable i will decide on what kind i want to really consentrate on.

A Forum mini Destroyer, it may be a good board for you along with a pair of recons and some Technines for bindings. EIther that or Forum bindings.......cant go wrong with Forum.
