In testing Gisgo thought some more spring tension might be good, and he is much smarter than me, so try it

Lurker milled his bolt so that my spring will compress 0.2" more than the standard bolt milling used in the spring mod. So, any additional compression will more than likely cause the spring to bind. No good will come of that.

Not to mention the techt spacers are a smaller diameter than the bore of the eigenbolt.

I'm also guessing too much spring tension would also slow the return stroke, and the eigen's super fast return is one of the reasons we don't need that dang HE I-ring.

Those are supposed to be the best for paintball use because they are supposed to hold up better over time and give less stiction. I guess they might be alright if you can fit them good. If not they'd probably take longer to break in. I would have for them for my guns but they were just so much higher in price. I went with hbnr and some buna. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

In light of bnkr king's tolerance video, i figured I'd put one up to, to further help us all out. Just a disclaimer, i didn't do this to extreme detail, i just included what I felt was important.

Video1-Tolerances
Firing can (clear 17/70's) / Sail O-ring (Buna 16/70) / Sleeve (lightly stretched Buna 17/70) / Bolt Guide (Buna 12/70)

Video2-Shooting

TonTon Shocker SFT
Virtue Board ROF15, dwell10MS, PSP Ramp
Eigen Bolt/Aluminum Sleeve/nonHE can
NDZ Slik Trigger
CP On/Off ASA and Razor Drop
Vertical MaxFlo

Before the pod tank PSI:

I say 2100PSI. You guys?

After the pod tank PSI:

The needle appears to be in between 1500PSI and 2000PSI, so I wanna say I was left with somewhere between 1600 and 1800. What say you guys?

Paint was some wal*mart RPS stinger, its very dimpled paint and is rather tiny. I shot it using a .689 and that was overbored. I didn't have an insert small enough for this paint.

I want to try it with a lower dwell, and I wish i had a chrono to check velocity. Sorry guys, but this is what I was able to come up with.

I thought those o-rings looked a little too loose. Maybe not the can or front guide o-ring but it's been my experience if I go with a little tighter o-rings for the rear guide, inner sleeve, and sail o-rings I actually was able to get my dwell and operating pressures even lower. You don't want them very tight but they would be tighter than that. I set both my shockers about the same way as far as o-ring fitting and chrono'd for 285. One was running at 6 ms dwell and 145 input and the other was 6 ms dwell with 160 input. The first one is a nasty nxt with a ulp can and the other is an octane nxt with a stock sft can. I think that's the difference in the two guns operating pressures. This is just my personal experience. Could've been caused by weather or something else though.

Has anyone tried using an adjustable guide and putting the length of the guide out just a little to get even better efficiency? I know that is was designed for the stock length guide but I seem to remember Gisgo saying you could gain a little more with an adjustable guide because in the designing they left a little wiggle room to make sure the bolt would work with all guides.

Finally fixed my gun.. put the eigen in using my rhino spring I already had, threw an oring on the bolt, didn't bother changing the guide tip oring and it fits great. Slight friction from the bolt oring being a little big but 0 fsdo (with just air). Shot sweet as **** til I looked into the breach and noticed that evidently my bolt isn't returning all the way.. so the spring is probably binding on my guide again..

The spring with the eigen looks different then the one I bought from rhino - is it cone shaped like the one I bought? May throw it in tomorrow when I'm at the field. Really wanna put a solid 10-15 tanks of air through it but not if its binding as that wont do me any good.

I don't think its actually cone shaped now that I'm thinking about it.. but I have been drinking and I am teching guns in candle light on the floor.. but the two springs looked different somehow.

Guess tomorrow ill find out what the deal is.

Sorry for the triple post... I've now put in another 45 minutes using pretty aggressive sand paper to sand my guide even more... spring is still binding. The new spring is even worse. How am I the only person experiencing this with a stock bolt guide? I've already sanded the piss out of the guide for my other sprung bolt.

How far is the eigen supposed to sit in the breach with air?
