Protein drinks
Hey all, lately I've been wanting to cut my body fat percentage down and get some clean cut abs back. I'm only at 23 lbs of body fat so I'm not terribly out of shape. My question though is how bad would drinking a protein drink every day after a workout effect the process of this (I workout Monday-Thursdays). My plan is to start jogging 2 miles Monday and Wednesdays and see how that goes. I know the Muscle Milk protein shakes, as well as some others, have quite a bit of calories in them. Any info is appreciated, thanks.

look for low calorie/ low sugar whey protein simple as that.
muscle milk to my knowledge tastes good but has lots of sugar and calories which makes it taste so good.

Protein drinks are not bad for the fat gaining, you can take the protein drinks or protein shakes post workout.
If you want to lose the fat then you should also do some cardio workout such as jogging, running, and swimming etc. along with weight workouts.
Green tea, and citrus fruits juices can also help to cut off the fat level.

Optimum whey protein doesn't have a whole lot of additives in it and tastes pretty decent.
Instead of jogging 2 miles do sprints instead.

I think the seriousness of this thread died right after post #2.

protein works well as an appetite suppressant but most of the serious ones meant strictly for protein content lack the necessary nutrition to make them a viable meal replacement. Cutting back on excess sugars, carb heavy meals and heavy saturated fats would be a good place to start. Muscle Milk has enough calories in it that I use it as a meal replacement in the morning after I lift even though it really isn't meant as such. You need to start with a healthy balanced diet and more cardio than twice a week. It's good to start slow so you don't hurt yourself but I'd increase the frequency to every other day and about a mile to start. Swimming is a really good low impact total body workout if you have easy access to a pool.
