Kingman Hammer
I just got an offer for an old kingman hammer, I had a few questions.
The guy wants my 220 dollar 98 for it, I'm not sure about the worth of the hammer, is this a good trade?
Can I get a 12 gram changer and stock feed for it?
How is it, does it work well, is it, overall, worth it?

It's worth about $50 in good condition.

Depends. Are you a collector? A good condition one is pretty rare.
The Hammer 1 is essentially a Nelspot clone. It works like a Phantom would.
Tippies don't hold value that well. It's probably $100 now for your 98.

But not as well, and there are much less parts for it, no upgrades that I know of besides barrel, and waaaaay less support and information about. Not that it would be needed, but it is a very good thing to have.
I'd offer about $50 for it, if it works and is in decent condition.

The tippy is only worth around $110-$120, a hammer is worth around $60, especially if it has the stock brass lined barrel.

Well, he said 60 shipped, so that sounds fair to me.
I'll probably send off the money order when I get paid this friday, but I have another question:
is there a way to get a 12 gram changer on the hammer?

Yea, you just screw a 12 gram changer in the ASA, CCI(company that makes the phantom) makes a nice one.

Aren't 98's only worth like $60 used anyways? I would just trade, but it's up to you. $60 for one seems fair too, if you prefer just paying cash.

Lol, all this 98 bashing. Here's my logic:
100 dollar Palmer Reg
40 dollar sticky grips
15 dollar rocket cock
custom polished internals
20 dollar double trigger
50 dollar barrel
Knock off 20 bucks of each part, your still looking at 170.

100 dollar Palmer Reg Worth around $70 used with the mount
40 dollar sticky grips Worth maybe $10
15 dollar rocket cock $10
custom polished internals Not really worth much, might add $5
20 dollar double trigger worth maybe $10
50 dollar barrel you really got ripped off, no single piece aluminum barrel is worth $50, you can get a kit or a palmer brass for that much. used might go for $15 tops.
Knock off 20 bucks of each part, your still looking at 170.
|
You probably could get $170 from a part out, but assembled guns go for less than parts lots. The gun is worth at the most $150 assembled.

That's what I meant, didn't know it had upgrades. Though the only real value booster is the Palmer's reg, take that off then trade.

You say that, but then you need to feel the stickies to say they don't boost the value.

everyone knows about stickies, but the point is, they're $25 new and don't really have a high resale value.

15 dollar rocket cock (don't know how much this is used, not going to edit)
custom polished internals how the **** are they custom?
20 dollar double trigger should come stock IMO
50 dollar barrel what kind of barrel?
Total:
$15
|
Not saying that it would be worth it even stock, just give him cash, don't even consider a trade.

this is why you don't ask a crapload of guys that are completly biased twords spyder, for instance i would consider the trade for a hammer a good deal, I did on the other had find some punk to by my very used completly stock a-5 for 180 dollars in which i bought a vs1 and then paid my car insurance. So tippmanns are very good to sell to nubz$$$$
Now what do i do with a tippmann brand 14 "sniper" barrel, flateline barrel, commando stock, response trigger, double trigger, and a swiched out my brand new replacement valve for a 5year old worn out valve. oh yeah the sweatest part of the deal was i got everything for 100 bucks.
buy the hammer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
