Just say no to marmalade. I'm not a fan of Haters Lubes. It recommends Dow55 so stick to the recommendation.
Be careful with the position of the shuttle ring it fits both ways but only works one way.
LP to MP tanks work the best. HP in a pinch, but it is not your friend.
Buy an o-ring kit that has the 23x1 o-rings in the kit. Use a Plastic o-ring pick NOT a metal one. Last thing you need is to put a scratch in the wrong place and have a leak you can't stop.

Not really but since they are thinner than the other they are easy to roll, tear or break.
It likes fresh lube before a day of play, but can take punishment. Just make sure the shuttle ring movement is unobstructed.

dow55. not 33. BIG differences. Guns designed for dow55 need it. Its why its recommended.
buy the oring kits from the reps. Dr oring and oring monkey dont sell the metric orings with the kits, yet even have them available.
You can easily buy dow55 in any town that sells automotive parts, hardware, industrial supplies. You want Medium Dow55. White and blue toothpaste kind of tube, and is usually about 6-10 oz's, costs about $40-50. Buy from a paintball store and you're getting 1/4 Oz tub that costs you 25$.. 15$ more gets you 40x more lube.

Not sure about the 2013s, still not got off my butt to send mine in BUT Vaseline works great on my 2012. And is far cheaper.

1000$ gun and people are cheaping out on lube... Stick with whats recommended imo. Less factors to blame when something goes wrong.

Honestly, Vaseline seems to have eliminated alot of my problems. Tried it in June after many problems since receiving my Demon in March. Not had a single issue with it since. I don't recommend it because it's cheap but because it works. Price is just a side benefit.
Also, as I said I have no experience with the 2013. Might be that Vaseline is bad for it though I wonder if the humidity of my area - southeast US - is why Vaseline works so much better. I hope to get my gun upped sometime in Feb and then we'll see.

I still use Vaseline. Except on the shuttle, that gets the Dow 55.

Lube is all personal preference in my opinion but you want something that's a bit thinner or just straight up Dow 55. Thick lubes I find can cause drop off. I use Pooty Poo which works great and is super thin but I also use Dow 55 every now and again.

I agree. I ordered the Dow 55 today. might as well start with the best if i expect the best.
How much lube should i be using. just a light coat or a good amount. I never owned a spooly before. My cockers throughout the years loved lube. the more the better. my other question is how often should i be taking this thing apart to lube it. should i do a complete breakdown every time?

Keep to the standard times.
After each day of play do the bolt for optimum Bolt Efficiency.
After 5-10 Cases do a thorough Bolt break down clean up and lube
After 20-25 Cases do a thorough Regulator break down clean up and lube.
I haven't gone through a Tournament with the Demon yet so I could not tell you how it would behave after so many cases but all it would take is 30 seconds to lube the inner can o-rings

Their is various types of dow 33 and 55 though, different thickness. Just got to be specific on what kind of dow you are looking for, and buy it in the right stores. Medium is almost like a whipping cream of dow.. Little more slicker than the typical paintball tub of 1/4 oz you buy from paintball sites.

Should be getting my demon back with 2013 upgrades soon. Just confirming that you can still use vaseline on this marker? or dow 55? Just want to make sure I have the right stuff for when i get it back. I know dow 55 was recommended because the demon needs slight swell on the o-rings, but the 2013 still needs that swell? and i know vaseline was used for both swell and slickness to get rid of boltstick, but with the spring it shouldnt be much of a worry right? I just have slick honey and dow 33 sitting around and wondering if that would work or if i should stick to 55/vaseline?
