Some fields allow them but its frowned upon because we dont wanna give the image of people actually getting shot. Also if some one gets injured we want to know whats blood and whats paint like if the get shot in the mask and they think they have a nose bleed or something.

is your field not FPO? talk it over with your boss, better to clarify now than to have to face this problem again later.

I've never been on field that allows red paint. The field i ref at does not allow it, it states that you will be kicked out after 1 warning if you use it in our fields.

It depends on your field policy. If you don't think he should be using it, explain as best as you can to the player why he/she shouldn't use that fill. Generally they will understand.
Personally I dislike red fill paint because it looks extremely close to real blood. It tends to scare off potential customers if they are simply watching a game and thinking about playing. Also if little Timmy were to take a shot to the neck and start crying, Mom might freak out.

another reason for field paint only. you should have specific rules on paint brand and fill i would think?
i have been to fields that allow BYOP, and have been hit with the red fill kind. that stuff stained everything... tasted horrible too, and when i spit it out people were asking if i was bleeding, and no i wasnt, but just goes to prove what people are saying about it being confused with blood.

Inka makes a paint in their "jungle" line called "blood". It's red fill. I've stayed away from this though. Though their jungle line is decent paint. But they do make one with a white fill so it's all good. Some fields around here (Toronto area) have fill restrictions that are strict. I've seen several fields that state ONLY white or yellow fills are allowed.

If someone gets shoot from a paintball with red fill, it'd be easy to assume that he's bleeding. And if he is bleeding, no one will know until he wipes the paint after the game. Someone could be mortally wounded from a paintball with red fill, and no one would know it. I always just assumed that red fill was illegal.

Red and Pink fill are banned from my field due to the fact that it can, and does often stain people or our own gear.

I thought it was illegal for the USA. I tried to look it up to see if anyone sold here (curios) and I couldn't find anyone.

Local shop sells pink fill Valken paint. Haven't seen a red fill paintball since a batch of Proball in 2000. Good old Proball, came in cases of 2500
But I believe as mentioned before the ban on red paint is for safety and appearance reasons.
