As far as full faces go it's all about weight vs. protection. I don't know much about DH but from the two reviews I watched it seems like a decent helmet. At 1100 grams its really light too. The only thing I didn't like is that the owner of the company said "it looks like a high end helmet at a great price" which if it were me buying the helmet, I wouldn't want one that just looks like a high end helmet. When I used to where full faces I swore by Fox helmets and I would never wear anything other than that.

For an extra $20 you can grab a Fox Rampage which is a fantastic helmet and it has a completely removable interior rather than just the cheek pads like the DH has.

Yeah Kali has higher end helmets, but they're $250 and up, I did look at the fox line and liked a few but Kali seems to be the choice most riders are going with, I'm fairly new to wearing a helmet, I just started riding again this year and never wore one in my teens or twenties, unless I was at a resort mountain, even then it was just a lid, so full face is completely new to me, I have a bell helmet that I've been using for dh, but it's a little big and I want something that fits well, looks nice, and does the job. I don't plan on smashing myself( I don't heal up like I did as a youngster) and I don't really ride insane freeride stuff but I have an enduro race( my first ever race) on the 20th this month at Highland Mountain Bike Park, if you live anywhere near New Hampshire I'd highly recommend checking that place out!! It's a three hour trip for me but so totally worth it

Edit: also the kali has more venting and a removable, washable liner, although the fox rampage does look nice, I think I'm gonna go with Kali, thanx for your input

So who wants to go riding? Im taking a break from PB and decided to get back on a set of pedals. Might need to replace the FBM that i have with something newer and lighter. Suggestions for 21" completes?

703? i live in central maryland.

im going to woodward friday-sunday. hoping the hurricane doesnt mess up too much, espeically for the drive up there. i also ordered a 26'' finally, and if it gets here before i go up to woodward id go nuts learning on both bmx and 26'' bikes.

i bought a ns holy 1(google image pic), and some dmr bars that were similar in spec to my bmx bars

i cant wait to hit mountains with it in the spring/summer

Sick dirt jumper i have a specialized p3 frame with pretty much everything non-stock since it just comes as the frame... And also got a specialized stumpy FSR i picked up that i like so far. Really nee to sell my old 20' tho

Well 26' is alot easier to land on dirt but in parks you're gonna be beter with a 20 since its smaller and easier to control... Speaking of skate parks... Have you heard of mark Webb?

There's still a lot of 21+'s out there. My Colony Teddy is a 21. I've been wanting to go to a 21.25 or something because I feel comfortable but I don't look it at all. Even insanely tall guys look more natural than I do. And relatively new edit I made

they had lot 8 and cloud 9 open, cage was closed (too cold+rain on friday), they didnt care if we went in the playground, and sunday before we left these canadian rollerbladers got on the megaramp but it was way to cold to do that outdoors so i just said ill do it in the spring, blown it was cold, but yeah thats all we had to ride.

jamie bestwick was up there all weekend helping me with stuff, as well as a few other notable pros from the area. it was a super awesome weekend.

So I have a question, mountain bike snow tires? Or chains? My bike is my only transportation atm, and for the foreseeable future, winter is about to kick my ***, I live in Massachusetts, and ride about five miles to work at 5:00 am, tires are $80-$105 per tire, chains $85 for the pair, don't really know much about either do I'm looking for some input, thanx

If you're just using it for transportation and not performance/trail-use, you can just ride with some standard mountain bike knobbies. Just ride more carefully and slow down sooner for stops or turns.

I actually had an old beat up road bike for a year in college that I'd ride in the snow on the stock skinnies from 25 years ago. Not as bad as you'd expect

Most of my ride to work is bike path, and trail, I've rode just knobbies in the past but this year I'm farther from work, used to be a half mile now five miles, want to be able to make decent time, I know it won't be the twenty minutes it takes now but I'd like to keep it under 35-40 minutes
