I don't thing there is anything I could say that would not be misinterpreted, so I will simply reassure the divisional teams that despite what has been said here there will be plenty of media coverage.
Regarding the new regulations, we will keep everyone updated via our website and Facebook page.

Dear All,
As a Media/Photographer/Videographer present at the 2013 World Cup, the PSP would like to inform you of our new rules concerning what was called Media & Press passes.
For the 2014 season, with the mindset of presenting more professional events to the public, our sponsors and our viewers, the PSP is restructuring the access to the playing fields and players’ area.
Photographers, videographers or anyone falling under the Category “Media/Press” will now be attending the PSP events as:
· Media
· Sponsor’s photographers
· Photographer for hire
Details about the first 2 categories will be discussed directly with whom it may concern. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me directly: Damien@pspevents.com
Photographers for hire:
On a first come, first serve basis, the PSP will grant 5 companies the right to access all the playing fields (with the exception of the Pro fields during Pro Division games).
This category is the only category of photographers/videographers allowed to sell their work to the general public.
Each company can be awarded up to 3 passes.
Fees will be as follow:
· Per event (except World Cup): $1200 for the 1st photographer, then $600 for the 2nd and $600 for the 3rd.
· World Cup only: $1500 for the 1st photographer, then $800 for the 2nd and $800 for the 3rd.
· For the entire season: $5000 for 1 photographer, then $2500 for the 2nd and $2500 for the 3rd.
Limiting the number of photographers around the field will give you more room to work with, help you generate more revenue due to less competition, and promote a more professional atmosphere, among other advantages.
Each company will be promoted on the new PSP website: A prominent link as “Official Photographers” will be on the Main Menu. A dedicated page will showcase all the companies registered and each company will have its dedicated page with up to 6 photographs promoting its work with a descriptive text, contact information and a direct link to its website.
You will also be promoted on other media such as our Facebook page (120,000+ fans)
If you are interested, simple get back to me by email and I will provide you with instructions on how to move forward and be one of the Official Photographs at the PSP events.
I am looking forward to see you in Dallas in a couple of weeks.
All the best,
Damien THAREAU

On a completely unrelated note, I will now be starting a lemonade stand. 5 cents per cup!

What if we don't sell our footage? I do everything out of my own pocket and don't sell my footage to anyone.

This is just so stupid, probably the one change for 2014 and just think is stupid. I just don't see any logic in this move besides pricing the photographers off the field which makes no sense to me.

I should clarify that there isn't a problem with the first two, IMO. In a perfect world, that's how it would be with companies paying with money rather than gear. These fees for photographers that are for hire are egregious.

The players basically ****ed it up for themselves by abandoning the NPPL instead of trying to help them out... it's kinda like monopolizing. For now, PSP will pave the way and we have to deal with the consequences. Say bye bye to some of your favorite photographers. If you divisional teams expect to get any photographs or video footage, be prepared to shell out couple extra hundreds on top of your flights+entry fee+paint fee+hotel fee+traveling expenses.

.
All this means for players is less photos, and more expensive photogs for hire.
I want to know how much they will enforce the policy of who can sell to general public... Not that I am trying to beat the system... but I know there will be individuals who they feel are above the rules... Will they get reprimanded for selling photos after the event?

Have to love it, charging and ensuring every dollar possible is drained and squeezed out of everyone.

1200 for a media pass
~400 for a flight to the event
~200 rental car
~100 gas for rental
~250 hotel costs
~50 food
______
~$2,200 to film a PSP event
So 1 person is probably capable of picking up half a dozen teams to shoot (could be more, could be less), meaning they'd have to charge nearly $400 per team just to break even.
I don't understand why anyone would want to do this. Neither the teams or the photogs / videographers can really afford this.

Hahahahaha PSP is so ****ing backwards. Take any pro sport in the world and ask how much they charge photogs. Zero would be the answer because they aren't idiots.

I didn't think the PSP could be any more of a bag of dicks but this just takes it up to the next level. This ruling completely eliminates the need for talent or skill as a photographer. Now it's just about how big your wallet is. What a joke, I was really looking forward to coming back for MAO since it's at my home field...HAH bye bye ****ers.
EDIT: I should add that at my last PSP event, I was carded more by the D4 refs than the pro field. I didn't pay a dime for pro access and sat on that field all day. Good luck enforcing all your ****ty new rules like you did for 2013!

This can't even be considered an investment because there is absolutely zero chance of turning a profit. 120,000 fans on Facebook you say? That's ****ing great when I want an extra five hundred likes on my page but that doesn't translate into customers.
