THE BATTLE FOR IWO JIMA IS ALMOST HERE. JULY 22, 2012 AT TSAWWASSEN PAINTBALL GAMES .
Morning REINCARNATION game (10am start till 12:30pm, lunch break til 1:30pm):
It is February 1945. Operation Detachment has been launched by the US with the intention of capturing the Island of Iwo Jima. The first task of invading US Marines was to capture the airfield located near Mount Suribachi. In this game, the blue team (US army) will be tasked with finding and abducting the Japanese Colonel (the dummy prop) in command of the airbase. The Colonel will be positioned inside the Chopper, along with 3 red team bodyguards, to start the game. If the red team can successfully defend the Colonel for the first 60 minutes of game play, they will complete their SPECIAL MISSION. If the blue team can recover the Colonel and return him to their entry point, they will complete their SPECIAL MISSION. A special mission success is worth 250 points. Remember, points are also gained at times throughout this day for controlling flag stations with your teams flag color raised.
Afternoon REINCARNATION game (1:30pm till 4pm):
The invading US Marines have encountered fierce enemy resistance and minefields but have established a beachhead. For this game, the blue team will start with 4 players inside the APC. The SPECIAL MISSION for the blue team is to remove the minefield (the mine props) from the minefield area as marked on the map each General has. For every mine recovered and returned to their entry point (there are 5) after 60 mins, the blue team will gain 50 points. For every mine remaining after 60 minutes, the red team gains 50 pts. This is the red teams SPECIAL MISSION.
Final battle (4:35pm to 5:20pm):
It is nearing the end for the Japanese force on Iwo Jima. Both outmanned and outgunned, the Japanese have vowed to fight to the last man. The blue team must take Mount Suribachi and plant the US flag at a special location to win this final battle. This special location is marked with a fluorescent red X on the ground. For this game, the red team will be deployed in and around the embassy and up on the ridgeline, and will defend this area to the death. Red players may not leave this area during the final battle unless eliminated! The blue team will start their attack from the far entry point and must plant the flag as mentioned above. If this flag is still in place after 45 mins, the blue team wins the final battle and gains the 1000 points. If the flag is not in place after the 45 minute time limit (or all red players eliminated), the red team gets the 1000 points.
Each player will have two armbands for this battle. As a defender, once you are eliminated once, pull a band and drop it on the ground. You may stay in your bunker if you wish, or you may retreat to a safer bunker and pull your band.
I REMIND ALL PLAYERS TO RESPECT THE FLAG AT ALL TIME. DO NOT DROP IT ON THE GROUND AT ANYTIME.
