Adjustable Ram Cap

Is there anyway to adjust the bolt in the Bushys to get them to have a sliver of the bolt tip in the breech to prevent roll backs and chops? I think the easiest way to do it would be to modify a bolt but I could be wrong.

I dunno too much about bushy rams, but maybe you could put some sort of o-ring in the ram?

You could put a spacer (rubber) between the hammer and the ram body. Also the anti-chop MAC ram is adjustable. I have one for sale over on www.icd-owners.com

bumper on the ram is your best bet, but with the open face of the bolt, you will get some roll back. Shouldn't be too much of an issue unless you have super small paint.

Man, don't flame the ICD-O....if you think it's archaic tell us why, there is new management and we are looking to spiffy it up. You can buy all kinds of parts there and the users are top notch and honest....infact on some parts some guys will even send them to you for FREE just to help people keep thier bushys going. Some of us are committed ICD maniacs.

It's no different than buying from this, or any other paintball website. If you can't trust the hardcore ICD people who fund and run that site I agree that you should not be there; not because it's old, but because you don't deserve it.

I see no reason why a site that is old, should be discredited for that reason. It's also the final stronghold to get ICD parts; For you to bash it is saying you have no interest in getting access to the vast knowledge and parts available within.

As we say down here in Texas "You dun stirr'd up a hornet's nest!"

Maybe you should just sell your Bushy and put $600 with it and buy a used Ego. You COULD appologize and all will be well...we are very forgiving.

Ya'll be good, his opinion is his opinion, and jumping all over him won't make him think we are a great bunch of guys over at ICDO. Granted, everyone who has posted anything helpful in the thread is an ICDO regular....

Good point Dub. Sorry for comin' off like a Jack-a-nini Road Dog.

As such to your specific question. I have long thought it would be cool to make an adjustable ram cap for a bushy but it would take some engineering to make sure it all sealed up.

I agree w/ Muthafunk. Heat up your hammer, unscrew it, plop a thick oring on the ram shaft and screw the hammer back on. That will in turn push the ram/bolt forward some.

Are you having alot of roll-back issues? I had some issues with roll-back on a BKO I drill the PDS too low on. I did the oring trick and it pushed the bolt forward enough to solve the problem.

Good luck w/ it.

Sorry bout that, didnt mean to offend. Anyways, I had it shooting fine in the back yard and loaned it out to someone for thier first big game. Actually had 2 guys with full set-ups for their first paintball experience with the following:

1.) DM8, pinokio, flex 7, 70/45 crossfire, redz pack
2.) Bushy, egg3, thermal spectra, 68/45 aa, uniquepack.

And their first experience was defending the castle at EMR here in PA, which is amazing. He said he had about 15 breaks throughout the day, which is unacceptable. So am I trying to remedy this in anyway possible. So I might not need it but just in case I am going to try it out. I was rocking the SL74 with a cure 3 and a pinokio and didnt have any breaks, so something was going on with his set-up.

Might check to see what condition your detents are in, and check for blowback before trying to dink with your bolt position.

This was actually the first time this gun was used in a game, the eyes work and the orings were not worn at all.

How are you checking for blow back? Also maybe I will cut a double oring grove in the bolt kinda like the egos have.

poopie, my knowledge has been bested yet again. Curse you, pump. Curse you.

I would seriously suggest putting a rubber washer between the devolumizer and the screw if attempted. Might try to work this up this weekend.

pump, you still have your lathe and whatnot?
