It's a limited run HK Army Dynasty Jersey, like 15 or so... Someone mentioned it earlier

This is a small company that came from nowhere, created a culture and flourished and NOW is a major sponsor promoting and growing the tournament scene. They are well connected to Dynasty and this is a logical business progression for them. As far as Dynasty goes, this ain't their first rodeo. Those boys have negotiated more deals in the last 12 years than 75% of PbNation will ever. At the end of the day, Dynasty will do what it feels is in the best interest of the team and their survival, survival being the key word. How many other self sufficient, non factory teams are playing today that were playing 10 years ago ???

... and paintball just took another step down the ladder into the pit of obscurity.
The public sees tournament paintball in the same light as ostritch racing; people don't care about the sport.
We once had good players and hope, and now are only left with a bunch of sellouts and hype machines.

Carter is not stupid, Carter is old school and has a certain view of the sport, he has my respect, even if our ideas conflict.
I met the HK guys, they're down to earth, friendly people. They'll talk to you like you're one of their boys.. thats whats refreshing to see.

Oh please. You may want to take off those rose-tinted glasses for a second, because you sound like a moron. If the public cared about tournament paintball, having a team sponsored by HK isn't going to suddenly turn them off.
And honestly, sellouts? What exactly are they selling out? Pro players need sponsorships in order to continue playing, and HK stepped in to offer one. Personally I see all the HK guys as a bunch of douchebags, but they have definitely stepped up here to get out a line of head-to-toe gear, and that deserves at least some respect.

If people don't care about the sport, then this can't be a step up or down. And sellouts looking for a better sponsor shouldn't mean anything at all. As this thread shows, some people very much do care. The fact that this move is so polarizing means people very much do care.
Part of the problem in paintball is that too many players want to say that the version of paintball they enjoy is somehow superior than the version other people enjoy. They argue that woodsball has more strategy. Playing with rentals has more participants. Or that speedball is more athletic. Pump requires more accuracy. Magfed is more realistic. Scenario requires the ability to mobilize many players.
The truth is that all these can be correct at once. But just because you enjoy one kind of paintball doesn't mean someone else can't enjoy another kind more.
Paintball has many different versions and that's one of the best parts about it. We can all enjoy the parts we want but there's no need to try to demean the parts that are important to other players.

I agree with John on that one (No not you!! The other one! Yeah you!!)
For real though... Dynasty is the most marketable team in paintball. You have to consider that half a dozen companies must have offered 'em a contract but HK obviously stepped up to the plate with the killer deal and got Dynasty. They aren't necessarily sell outs; Being one of of the most consistent and winning(ist) teams ever you can't expect them to wear just anyone's gear. Besides, as long as they rock dem flexes I really don't care!!

I'm pretty sure Dynasty would have been sellouts if they had let Empire dominate them...

I have not talked with anyone at Kee about it, but I have talked with a person who works for another company that is trying to work a deal with Dynasty.
It's all about performance and return on investment. Dynasty has not been a consistant team in the last few seasons and they got a large chunk of cash on top of the paint and equipment they got as well. Kee didn't see the return and decided not to sponsor them next year or said that the package would be less than they were willing to take and now they are shopping for a better deal.
I am not on the team, do not work for Kee or any other paintball company so if you want to take this a grain of salt, feel free.

i understand you've been around here forever, but you just dont get it.
those old players obviously failed at making the sport cool enough for the masses.
HK appeals to the exact age group that forms pb's core group of players. They are making it cool and fun to go out and play paintball with your friends. If we dont make paintball cool enough for the masses, we won't succeed in making this sport mainstream.
adapt or die.

Curious to see who they go with for paint, masks and loaders.

- No Upping threads. If you have something to say, please do, but don't post in the thread just to take it to the top of the forum.
- Do not post "1st post", "1st", "First post" or anything similar (or with any other number) at any point in a thread, even if you post a comment too. It is really annoying and it will result in a ban.
- If you don't like something, say why instead of just calling it ugly, lame, gay or any other name. If it is old, simply post a link or report the post with a link to the older News thread.
- Please don't post links for places to buy items. That encourages stores, sponsored players and other people to do it and spam the site.
