Used DM10, Not Hyper3 inline Reg?

I just bought a used DM10. The guy I bought it from didn't say anything about switching out regulators on it.I Was at the field today for the first time with the DM and i couldn't figure out how to adjust the velocity. I tried everything to get the bottom cap off and couldn't. I consulted some other players that knew about DMs and they had no clue what regulator was on there.

No identifiable markings. Been looking all over the place and cant find a picture of this reg anywhere to find out about it. Some help would be great here is a picture of it.

Dye has proprietary threads.... that is a hyper 3 at the top and it looks the same on the rest of the regulator but that bottom is just something ive never seen before either....

Stick an allen down the oring side hole (same size as the lpr adjust?)

the use that as leverage to turn some pliers on that bottom cap.(if you dont mid scratching it

The holes you see at the bottom run all the way through the other side. I assume for sticking something through and turning. But i have broke 3 allen wrenches and a bent small screwdriver trying to twist it off.

that would be the only way to get it off, I'd stick it in a vice and get it off, or use some heat, to break the loctite if there is any. and then buy a new bottom cap the reg is indeed hyper 3

Why did they do that to the reg ? I would also heat it to break loctite ( though green loctite is pita and sometimes won't break. Good luck fixing it

Good call . You will need a new hyper 3 reg . What about the board? A buddy of mine bought a dm10 in Germany a few years back and dye had to change the reg and the board because both are locked from the factory ( home regulation )

Thanks Manu#12 and you are also correct the board is programmed by dye and it has no further programming mode

see allot if these guns i live in the Netherlands and there is big market in second hand guns between us and Germany

i would recommend contacting dye for a reg and a board

but before you buy a new board first check if you can get into programming mode by finding the little switches on the board

That makes sense the guy i bought it from said he came back from overseas.
I was able to get off the bottom cap with heat and vice grips to access the adjustments. And the board is stock and able to program it.

Thanks for the info and help.

Good job, you can now find a bottom cap here on PBN or from dye

The concept of stamping the regulator to prevent guns from going over 220 fps is asinine.

more than one way to increase fps...

no, there really isn't lol, FPS is determined by regulator pressure/pressure going into the gun

Maybe not by a huge amount but i saw a +20 fps increase going from a .693 to a .680 barrel....

also one could modify their bolt or volume chamber (530 mod) to get more volume or more pressure right?
