It has been less than 21 hours since i announced the event, I cant imagine that we would have people commit that fast.. We are paintball players... that is way too quick of a turn around.

Well...
with Purdue having MICT on the 2nd, that means they won't make your X-ball, which kinda defeats the purpose.

1st or Second, and you get a "top 8" spot at nationals. If you don't play, you'd have to play Wild-Card at Nationals to get in; which will cost $2,000 and require you to be there to play on Friday.
So, basically, you can try and qualify locally without having to go to nationals to do it, or try and qualify twice if you miss it locally.

Where does the $1200 go to? Does it go to the school, does it go to the field. Is it funneled back to Nationals so that whoever gets to go doesnt have to pay as much?

$200 goes to NCPA for making nationals not cost as much for people who play qualifiers.
Not sure what happens to the other $4000 - but keep in mind that there's no paint revenue, and you gotta pay refs, air, regular field upkeep, etc.

so would it be possible to do something like set entry at 200 per team(which goes to the NCPA) and then maybe work out something with a field for the other costs?
just wondering

Most of it is costs incurred on turning our 5 man field into an X-ball field. To do it, we need to add extra netting, an extra push button fill station, extra air hoses and fittings... rental on the X, refs.
There is no way we could do the event for 200 a team..unless we charged 50 or so a case for paint. we cannot lose money, there are way too many other costs involved... If we work it right we can get to 1000

NO No no no.... 1st and second get 1000 off entry to nationals.. unless you played an earlier Class A event and placed 1st or 2nd in it aswell... you get 1000 off entry for every class A 1st or 2nd place finish...
