Is it a good choice, or is there a better board out there for the price? $140ish

Looks like a good board, but the Extreme 4 has more features for the price, and there is an Asus board for around that price that is pretty similar to the MSI (P8z77-V LK) so it's up to you really.
Do you care about USB 3.0, having lots of USB ports on your I/O, etc. Or is reliability the most important thing to you?

I think that board has USB 3.0 and USB 3.0 support for the case as well.

That board has USB3.0.
I'll look at the Asus, I'm here now.

It does, but the Asus has more in the rear I/O. Also the AsRock has two more SATA 3 ports than than the MSI and a helluva lot more USB 2.0 ports.
None of the boards from those three brands really have anything deal breaking or must have. It just comes down to what your priorities are.

99 percent of the Z77 boards are very similar. Just pick one.

From what I've heard the saber tooth really isn't worth it, but I'd probably get it for $200. It looks like Batman's motherboard.

Any opinions? Really not looking to break the bank on a motherboard, just trying to avoid a DOA product or something that won't work correctly with a 3570k.

Yeah I wanted one, but couldn't justify it at the time.

Ah crap. Well I think I decided anyway. I had 3 choices, only one supported SLI (want to future proof a little, incase I need to buy another 660ti down the road).

If the memory is cheap enough, get two 2Gb sticks and replace the two odd size pairs. But you probably wont notice much of a difference unless you're doing some intensive stuff.

I got the MSIz77a-g45 (they ddidn't have the 55). Reviews are stellar, it has what I need, and I can return it locally. Did I do good?
I also got a corsair enthusiast 750M psu since Ispent a lot less on the mmobo. For a case I got the Cooler master storm trooper full tower. I threw in a Cooler master hyper n250 cpu cooler as well.
