Why does Kerry keep going on and on about his Purple Hearts?

To my understanding he demanded one of them since he got a splinter sized injury. And why is he so proud of vietnam? Was it not one of the most opinionated wars in the us history?

He's relying on his brief military service to get him through, unfortunately it looms in the shadow of his 18 years in the Gov't wheres hes basically got no leg to stand on...aside from being voted the most liberal!

I'm not about to bash anyone's service to this country he did serve and that is always honorable in my book. But I do find it curious that he did throw his medals away during a protest back in the 70's and now he is using those same medals in his presidential campaign now.

Amen Dirty...however the flaws in his jacket definitely bear looking into, not to mention the "activities" he engaged in upon returning home from his brief tour of duty...nevermind the fact this man who accused fellow vets of being war criminals actually admitted to being one himself on Meet the Press a couple months back, that along would set off a red flag!

And do you have any understanding of war is like or what it is like to return home after war? You do a lot of stupid things, but the fact that he served is admirable. However I despise both of these idiots and I hate the fact that the American people are going to vote one of them into office. We need change not another lying crook!

Clinton was a boorish traitor coward too. He did some good for this country as have every President but I feel every modern President has been more detrimental than helpful to our country. We need change.

If you are talking about Teddy, then I agree, just without his outlandish views on racism.

Actually he served with the National Gaurd. Might have something to do with how he knows how to fly a jet? I dont know, it might be coincidental though.

Bush served, then when he was called upon went AWOL. I think he is bringing up the Purple Hearts to show that he didn't go AWOL, and that he at least has some balls. I like how all everyone says is they "like bush because he has the balls to attack another country". But if he really had balls wouldnt he be doing some of the fighting himself, or at least at one time have done some fighting....

bush has never brought up the purple hearts, and there is no proof that he went awol, nice try though, he was honorably discharged
