If more teams were in it the prizes would go up, and if we can turn it into a series we will get the vendors involved. This is a test run and crunching the time numbers 8 is the best number that i know we will for sure get through all the games. If it goes well we will adjust the number of teams for the next ones.

$250 is kinda steep for 3man. I think MWXL was 300 for 5man.

Mwxl is $300 for d4 and $400 for d3. And there are only cash prizes for first and second place. Like dlove said we testing things trying to see what works best for everyone. Thanks for the input any input is welcome.

not a bad deal at all. You can roster 6. Do the math. Own pit with air station. No running anywhere to fuel up and load up. Sounds pretty cool.

He isn't affiliated with anyone who is running the tournament or the field. Don't let 1 person ruin any interest you possible had.

The pricing is based off of how many games you would play and the prizes we are trying to offer. The higher the entry the higher the cash prize at the end. We also looked at the average cost it take a team to play this event and how much they would have to make to profit or have it be worth their time.

Its a nice opportunity for people who wouldn't even otherwise try xball. Great inexpensive option for people who haven't played it before. Its a completely new experience compared to five and 3 man games.

$250 may sound steep when you hear 3man, but thats also compared to 3man style games. but this sounds like an awesome alternative to big xball events, and idk about anyone else but xball is the way to play in my opinion. at least 3 ten minute matches and to have your own pit/fill station/scoreboards at that price would be amazing. i hope this turns out good so you guys end up making a legitimate series out of it.

I wasn't trying to be rude. It was just an opinion and if you are someone looking to get a new series started than you may have to cut into the profit margin a little at first to get as many teams interested in the first tournay. In my opinion there is becoming more and more younger teams in the state and many of them may not have experienced xball that may like it and wanna play but may look at the price and decide to play a different 3man that is less expensive because they don't realize what they are all getting with this entry fee.

How many teams do you have registered?

Ran a similar styled tournament when i was younger quite a few years ago.
My advice would be to make sure you have plenty of staff and people who know whats going on not just refs on the field.

I would like to see a mercy rule implemented vs the race to format. Works essentially the same but would allow for crazy comebacks. And I dont think it would increase your overall length of the event the ie: the short games would balance out the longer games.
