Sounds like a bit of self-contradiction.
Nothing ever distracts me while I study, and I study in busy areas. Kind of hard to hear people over the lil wayne. Nothing really ever used to distract me while I lifted either. I would just plug in music and be in the zone my entire workout. Though it is a lot easier to focus in on lifting like that for a mere 1.5 - 2 hours straight than it is to sit around studying for 7-10 hours.

I ****ing hate how you can't quote from a closed thread. This was from pelto, BTW.
Anyway, you will see that I said I don't give a **** if it doesn't hinder me. Having somebody ~6 inches from my face as I'm trying to set up on the platform hinders me. If you can focus for a set with somebody walking in front of you that close multiple times, more power to you then. But I can't.
I'll clarify the situation a bit. I didn't yell at the guy or anything, I just asked him if he could not walk so close to me, or wait a short while until I'm done with the set so he could then walk wherever he wants. He gave me some half assed excuse about why he was so close to me, and then he gave me the "whatever dude" bull**** that I tend to expect from people who have nothing more intelligent to say. I certainly put some harsh inflection into my voice after he tried to brush me off, but it's not as though I got in the guys face.
