Impact only playing one US league for 2013

From Paul Richards Blog: View from the Deadbox

Quote:
Impact Out
--of the PSP pro division! Mr. Curious is calling this a done deal (but as y'all know done deals are undone all the time.) Rumorology is unclear as to the cause though it's easy to speculate it is part of the hardening stance between the two leagues. (A countervailing theory suggests this move may have been motivated by a desire to keep deep pockets from setting off a bidding war for the top players--rumor had it Bart was dropping some serious change on his latest acquisitions--a move that could cripple the competitive balance of the fledgling Champions & Challengers changes to the pro division.) Given that the conventional wisdom is that the NPPL doesn't continue to exist without Bart Y.'s continued support it would appear the PSP has tired of endless on again off again negotiations. Considered in the light of other pro team departures from the NPPL for the 2013 season--including XSV, it begins to look like a determined push to settle the dueling leagues once and for all.
In Paul Richards we trust. VFTD for life.

EDIT: refuted by Impact.

EDIT 2 - now the PSP is saying Impact won't play the NPPL

This 2013 season we will be playing the PSP and Millennium Series exclusively, as well as the Intercontinental Cup in Malaysia.

We highly anticipate the upcoming season, not only to see what this new Edmonton Impact team may accomplish, but also the inner workings of bringing great players together and playing the best Paintball we have ever played. We look forward to competing in the 2013 World Championship and the European Millennium Series!”

“Clearly Edmonton Impact has chosen to focus their energy on becoming the best team possible.” said Lane Wright of PSP Events. ”The PSP offers a superior product in a format that is conducive to not only the athlete but also the sport. We look forward to the passion Impact will bring to our events this season.”

In addition to starting the year in the Champions Division of PSP Events, Edmonton Impact will be crossing the pond to compete against the best Europe has to offer in the Millennium Series."

with Damage, XSV, and Infamous out of the NPPL and Impact WAS going to play both leagues, - really the competition in the NPPL is now going to be between Dynasty and Impact as Impact stays focused on the 7man.

So if this is true, as stated before Bains, Jrab and Sewers have to find psp teams. So then what would be the point of them doing a total team switch? I.E. - Sewers could have stayed with Infamous for psp and Impact for NPPL. I wonder how this will all work out now.

Impact grabbed enough new players this off season, those guys should just make a new psp team. Call it...deep impact.

I see a Morgan freeman jersey.

Didnt Jrab quit Damage because he wanted to play in all the leagues possible and Damage wanted to focus only on one?

ROFL!

So many big names that joined the team, to only play a dying NPPL. I think they allready regret their decision going to Impact.

When are we going to see players leaving again?

Don't believe it until there's an official statement, that roster is stacked and ready to do damage against the best the PSP has to offer. Those players should want to play against the best teams in the world.
