Business Employees or Not?

As most of you are aware, Paintall Extravaganza is a wholesale tradeshow and attendance is limited to store & field owners and employees. It was brought to out attention today by a manufacturer that one of the registered businesses was signing up non-employees on their roster as employees for they could gain entry into the event.

We spend a lot of time verifiying businesses to ensure the manufacturers that the event attendees are from "real" businesses but have no way of veriying employees without creatiig a very cumbersome registration system so we rely upon the honor system for employee verification.

We have been notified by a manufacturer that there is a paiintball business that has included nonemployees on their registration to the event. We sincerely hope that this is a very isolated instance business registration wil become a time consuming activity of verification of employees becomes necessary or it becomes necessary to limit registrations to owners only.

We appreciate the cooperation of the many business owners that attend Paintball Extravaganza International.

Solution I think might work on this issue. Have different colored ID's for the owner with a picture on it and a different color for any employees. This way if the owners approach a vendor booth, that company will know that they are able to offer a price list or wholesale application. Also ONLY the owner can get the free items and such. I realize there are many employees for many businesses and they want them to be able to take tech classes and such, so this again might help distinguish them.

Employees aren't the problem. It's the businesses bringing nonemployees to the event that causes the problem. There are many employees, such as managers, that should have access to wholesale pricing as part of their job may be purchasing for the business.
