Chuck Palahniuk Appreciation Thread

Let's face it.
The guy's amazing... and in order to shoot down a weekly CP thread, why not start one all-encompassing thread to discuss the glory that is this guy.

I've only read maybe 10-15 books in my adult life (Just recently started reading again), and 4 of them have been by Chuck with plans of reading the rest of them very soon.

Choke was my favorite.
Diary and Lullaby were both very good.
Haunted was good at the beginning, but I seemed as though it wasn't as good further along in the book.

I really need to pick up Rant and Snuff (May 20, 2008).

And Go.

He plans on doing 3 books in the Rant universe, which I'm excited about.

CHOKE was made into a film and will premier at this years Sundance Film Festival next week.

Survivor and Rant are my favorite chuck books.

I've read Choke, Invisible Monsters, Fight Club, Survivor, and Diary.

I read Diary after coming off a Vonnegut bing, so that worked out VERY well. I would say Survivor is still my favorite though.

Meh, he's all right but his books should really be renamed to "Random Factoid Narrative vol. 3"...

I found Rant to be the easiest of his to get into. I thought the narrative of the oral biography is awesome and makes for such breezy reading.

I've read Fight Club, Survivor, Haunted, and I'm almost done with Rant. Palahniuk is definitely my favorite author. I still need to read Choke and I can't wait for Snuff to come out.

lol, it will not be on par (quality-wise) with how Fight Club was. The budget for the film is only $3.4 million. To put that into perspective, Fight Club had a budget of over $60 million.

It was also shot over only 25 days.

Palahniuk has said that he is more excited for Choke's adaptaion than he ever was for Fight Club's.

EDIT: Interview and Clips from Sundance:

It should still be good for those of us who enjoyed the book. I wish they would have made Survivor into a movie like they once planned to.

It is still very much in the works. It had a lot of gas behind it right up until 9/11 when the idea of plane hijacking in a movie was probably a little iffy. Here's a quote from the Cult.

There may yet be hope.

Ah, well I hadn't heard that. And a good director is always a nice touch also.

I've read Survivor, Fight Club, Choke, Rant, Invisible Monsters. I am in the middle of both Diary and Lullaby ( work got me sidetracked). Survivor and Rant being my top two.
I wish I could find some way of reading insomnia.

I picked up "Survivor" today since I've heard so many good things about it on these boards.

I've read Fight Club. Great book for only very few pages. My next read will be Choke, can't wait for it to be released.
