Official ST:A "What car should I buy?" thread
So here's the deal: You have x amount of money and y options you desire in a vehicle, or you have a few certain vehicles in mind but need help making a final decision. Instead of creating a new thread that will likely get you 1-2 useful answers that you have to dig through a number of useless responses to find, you will post here.
Users who don't want to help someone make a decision stay out. No trolling, no flaming, standard PbNation rules apply.
Henceforth all threads asking what vehicle to buy will be closed and redirected to this thread.

Rx8, 128i, wrx, camaro etc..
So i've been looking at cars recently... I need a car nothing more than 30k.. the cheaper the better. I've thoroughly researched on rx-8.. It's an awesome car but gas mileage I heard is ***. Still fun to drive.. On the other hand a wrx is well... a subbie so idk... plus the camaro.... I mean help?

I don't know if you're quoting me but I meant it as a positive.. Only thing is that I like coupes better and they weigh more than etc.. I'm not looking into big engines nothing more than a v6.

That's not a very positive connotation.
Anyway, without knowing your parameters/interests/needs, no helpful information can be given.

im looking for something in the 5k-7.5k range. I dont drive a ton right now (put 5k miles on my DD last year, will likely drive my new car even less) so mileage and maintenance aren't really an issue for me. im strongly against owning a FWD car.
I'd really like something with some get up and go, however, i've got unique snowflake syndrome, so not your usual under 10k go fast cars (yes i realize for 7.5k i can build a *****in foxbody, so does every other jackhole out there)
prefer european, would really prefer VAG.
tl;dr:
high priority:
within my budget
fun to drive
not fwd
medium priority:
euro
not *** ugly
low priority:
gas milage
reliability
I'm currently looking at audi coupe quattros, or if i can find a steal on a b5 s4, but neither of those are especially plentiful, so i was hoping for some other suggestions to broaden my search a smidge.

I'm looking for something new under 30k.. if I buy used it has to be under 17k.. Has to be at least a 4 passenger car. Gas mileage is medium priority but I don't want a gas hog that goes below 22mpg in highway.. looks is also a priority that's why I am leaning more into getting an rx8 than a subbie because it looks better stock exterior and interior. The thing that gets me with an rx8 is it handles crap in bad weather with rwd and wrx are awesome with their 4 wheel drive.. wrx doesn't have a coupe... coupes are priority.. well rx8 is a halfbreed coupe but it still is.. I was also looking into 128i, 370z(well over my price range), eclipse, camaro(cheap, very good mpg, tons of power, style is ehh its decent,). Also a car that doesn't come out every year is also priority but pretty much all of them are made every year.. I've read reviews that rx8 are fun to drive and handles pretty well for the price too..
If there is a car that can have the pros of a wrx and an rx8 I would definitely take it...
dk what else to add.. but thanks if you can give me some advice

rx8s are not very good cars... horrible gas mileage, very finicky and have zero power... past it looking pretty cool, its got nothing to offer. go buy a wrx, you cannot go wrong with what you want out of it. the car is no bigger then any other coupe out there, it just has 2 extra door handles. for 17k used you can get into an 04-06 sti, id suggest that route if you dont mind a lack luster interior. otherwise get yourself a new loaded wrx and dont look back

Hey, im looking for soemething about 10k (canadian) before taxes.
Not so much a sports car, but something that wont make me look like a grandma.
Ive had in mind mazda 3 for a while, i test drove it and felt kind of cramped This is my first car, more of to get me to college and back without looking like a tool. Any suggestions?

If it's cramped you won't want to have to drive it on a regular basis. Trust me. Try checking out Civics, Accords - you may even be able to find a newer Corolla in your price range.

Want:
Under $4,000.
Small car
good gas mileage
prefer manual
not Dodge
Has to have A/C, and preferably good cold A/C.
just enough of an engine to get to 60mph in like 9 seconds. I've been driving a minivan for a while, so anything will be an improvement.
I've done lots of mechanic work before, so I could possibly buy a fixer upper.
