46 here. Started @ 26 @ S.C. Village in corona Ca. with a Phantom Pro-stock pump. Getting up from a the ground with the "Older" Knees sucks!! HaHa....IMHO though i think it took a little more skill with pump guns back in the day.....

Hey! I get second place at 63! So far. Started 20 years ago when the boys introduced me to the sport. Started with tippman SL - 68 pumps until the Angels came out and we broke down and bought some Spyders that we still play with. It was FUN bunkering those Angels trying desperately to reload their empty hopper with all three of us running at him. Just couldn't handle getting taken out with pumps. Sometimes their own team mates wouldn't fire on us and just watched the show... The boys don't play much now. Jobs, kids, bills, honey do list. Life gets in the way of having fun. Got a grandson coming along...

It did not take long to realize it was the only legal way to put black and blue marks on my children.

We turned the boys into our personal slaves in exchange for paintball money and transportation to the field. They learned to vacume, do laundry, cook, wash dishes, mop, clean toilets, not to mention the man jobs of grass, leaves, gutters, oil changes, etc. Total child exploitation. They grew up, moved out, and immediately got snatched up by a couple of girls that thought domestication of their new hubby might be pretty easy. They know how, they just don't like to do it... Welcome to the real world.

Graduated into scenario play. I'm a tinkerer and build a lot of my own toys for paintball. Run a backpack mounted star wars ATST walking tank, complete with autoloading Nerf cannon. A old Mech Autococker set up for sniping with an auto rangefinder, Zilenced, with a sniper mode that does not make noise when recocking. Did home made flatlines for my cocker. Adapted the spyder and cocker with a solenoid and circuit that pulled the trigger for me at about 10 rps. Scarey back then. Working on a belt fed autoloader. and other goodies that I just can't carry around on my back with all that other gear. I ain't getting any younger so I'm building my first motorized tank this year. Then add the belt feed, gatling gun, smoke screen, and 100 yard plus artillery piece if I can ever get it to work. Stereo to play a sound file of a REAL 50 cal firing every time my marker fires. Just for your entertainment pleasure.

You can buy RC planes controlled via cell phone internet. Just a matter of time and money until I make a RC tank with live audio and video that I can just ship to the game and kick booty from my nursing home bed... Until my heart rate sets off the alarm anyway.

Notice the posts how good some of these old guys are after 10+ years of paintball. You ain't fast and can't do those Ninja moves but you KNOW how to move. Paintball, like making love, is all about timing. Timing is everything. Little windows of opportunity to advance open up and close within a second. It takes years of getting shot and failing to get it right to recognize an opportunity and act on it before it is too late. You kids wonder why the oldest and slowest guy on your team is in FRONT of you... Timing..... but Speed helps.

It is more fun and entertainment than a man my age should have.

48. Been playing for about a year. Youngest son went to a birthday party at the paintball field, and now both sons and I play about every two weeks. We always try to get their friends to come with us and get involved. Once they play, they usually keep coming back!

My dad is 60 and hanging with us kids whenever we practice.

Funny thing is, he refuses to play home. He always ends up doing a Dorito run-through.

He makes me so proud.
