So, I picked up the flowerhorn this evening, two things.

1) This fish isn't the one I picked out originally.

2)This fish has white poop there fore has some sort of internal parasite.

Gonna go see them about getting a different fish tomorrow.

Well, not sure it was intentional, but I've got my own pictures of when I picked out the fish, and then the owners own pictures about half way through my trip, I asked for him to send me some pictures.

Spots on a flowerhorn don't change that drastically over 3 weeks.

Yeah, they moved the fish to another tank that was shared with another flower horn, possibly the one that was mine.

I'm not sure, but I'll go talk with em and see.

They had a really cool female Feste in there, might see about taking that home.

Pics of the flowerhorn?

Hes almost impossible to get pics of because he is hiding right now.

I took 2 electric blue jacks in to them, I paid 20/each for em, the price on the fish I wanted was $70 and they made an even trade.

Realistically, I've got $40 bucks into the fish, but if I can't look at it and hes just going to sit in the corner all night, I'll go back and get a pair of green terrors for 6 bucks and use the rest as store credit.

The one you end up keeping.

That's not too bad. They seem like really cool fish though. They just got a big blue one at my lfs. He's pretty cool.

Well, the LFS has more than taken care of me. I've still got the same fish still. LFS gave me 6 free tiger barbs, to keep the FH active, a bag of epsom salts to treat the tank, and a $15 box of API General Cure for internal parasite. Not only that but they said that if for what ever reason the fish passes in the next 3 months, they'll give me $100 of store credit to use on what ever I want.

So I've got him in a quarantine tank right now with the meds and twice daily I have to give him a epsom salt mixture directly into his mouth until I can get him eating again. Once hes eatting I have to soak his pellets in the epsom salt mixture until he is fully cleared up.

Wow that's crazy.

We got another anemone today. Haddons green carpet, it's about 10" and looks HUGE when stretched out. It currently hosts 2 black black and white ocellaris clowns.

I'd love to have some clowns right now, but not putting too much money into salt right now.

Gonna buy a new gun soon, so I've gotta cut back on my fish expenses for a month or so.

Yeah, I need to buy another handgun as well. We traded our purple bubble tip for the green carpet and bought the select pair of clowns separately. I love how they immediately claimed the anemone. Clowns are so funny.

Thats what I'm really considering to go pick up tomorrow. The Pxtra on post has it for a helluva lot cheaper than whats listed there though. Always wanted a 1911, and that one is pretty awesome.

I used to keep a lot of fish about 10 years ago but got out of it when I went to school. I'm thinking I want to get a smaller tank going again now, I have a 20g long tank that I'm thinking of using. What would be some ideas for a tank that size? I was thinking a planted tetra tank but also looking for some other suggestions.

Depends on what you wanna do. A planted tetra tank would be awesome, a shoal of tiger barbs or something would be cool too. Or if you an get some good odessa barbs, I like those too.

If you want to do cichlids, you could look at a pair of convicts, when fully mature they may need a little more room but they'd be fine in a 20L for quite a while.

I do like cichlids but was always under the impression something larger was needed, so I'll look into them and the barbs also.

Well, obviously the more room the better. But many people breed convicts for life in 10 gallon tanks. it isn't the best of conditions but a 20 long should be fine as I said for quite a while.

Have you guys seen ibluewater.com that place is insane. Such cool rare fish.

I was stoked about my select/mated pair of black and white ocellaris clowns + their host anemone, but that site takes rare fish to a whole new level.

Hell yeah, those sharks are awesome too.

I found out the aquarium hobbiest fishing permit is free in Hawaii, but you have to document your catches. I cant wait

That would be sweet. Not really sure how I'd go about catching small tropical fish in the wild though.
